Thats him done with us now surely. Awful pen. No confidence whatsoever. GLTTL but time for a fresh start elsewhere
Played very well tonight, all that was missing was a goal. Defended well, linked up play, dropped deep to play decent balls and start moves off. Looked lively all game

Pen was shite.

Only tuned into the second half to be fair. Found his level perhaps?
Just needs confidence. Worked hard and got about the pitch. Had a few good efforts first half and “scored” our 2nd - obviously and OG but he put himself in a position to force the error. Think the sub was made to manage his confidence more than fitness….doesnt need to chase the game to make up for the penalty

Perfect assist 😂
I’m calling it unselfish. Helping a young lad gain confidence at his own expense.

I feel for RB. I’ve only caught bits of the match but saw he smacked one at pace first half, but straight at the keeper. Literally anything a foot either side would have gone in such was the welly on it. I think he’s missed at least one pen before (Blackpool?). I hope he can show something this year.

Played well but his finishing is really poor couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. Overall game play was good tho.

Focussed on a penalty miss as opposed to his overall performance?

2 good efforts in first half.
Made the 2nd.
Played the ball through for Slimane to win the pen.

Give the lad a break FFS

Typical for a player lacking confidence, the ability is there he just needs to apply it. He was good all game, making good runs and dropping deeper and playing good passes, then it came to his chance which he snatched at and smashed when really should have side footed it either corner, the pen he's caught in his head and ends up just aimlessly hitting it.

Compare that to Hamer who had an all round pretty poor game against Preston but had the confidence and composure to make the split second choice to go for a lob and he gets a goal.

He played ok. At best.

That price tag is like a noose round his neck. I feel sorry for him.

I'm just so conflicted on the guy. I agree he had a good game tonight, penality miss aside. He's obviously incredibly low on confidence but again, played well.

However I don't think he's ready for the first team and somewhere out there is a discarded box in a puddle that's less likely to break than he is. More to the point for 20mill he really should have more about him.

I really really really reeeeeeeally want him to come good I do. He's seemingly got the ability but just can not apply it, sometimes it's bad luck sometimes it's nerve but for whatever reason it's not happening. At what stage do you call it a day with someone?

Think we're stuck with him to the end of season when his contract runs out because no one is going to offer anything worth taking
and we're hardly going to pay off his contract and not have a player.

Obviously he still needs time to get up to speed. Thought his workrate and link play was good but he's not gambling enough running into space so fairly easy to mark and more importantly seems to lack composure when shooting, goes for power too much instead of accuracy.

A striker should always be good at penalties because it relates to striking technique and calm composure to slot the ball into the corner.
For me Brewster took the penalty in a similar way to how I'd expect Harry Souttar (or any central defender) to take a penalty
Brewster hit it central, with plenty of power just making sure it was on target, thats not good enough for a striker, you need to be hitting the corners.

It least he seems to care and is trying and apparently he's a positive influence in the dressing room, so wish him well.

The chance he missed before that goal was probably better than the penalty. All he had to do was hit it in either corner instead he did his trademark rocket down the middle.

Agree, Sharp would have just calmly passed the ball into the side netting.

Brewster does seem to hit his shots so cleanly and often goes for power.
However it as though he hits the ball too cleanly and the goalie knows where it's going, so tend to make good saves against him.

Ironically someone like Mcburnie didn't hit the ball as well and often scuffed his shots
but because McBurnie didnt know where he was hitting it, then the goalie never knew where McBurnie is hitting it either.

To be fair the keeper was a yard off his line when he took the penalty I thought, but not a brilliant penalty. I thought he played ok otherwise, he needs a goal off his arse or summat he's trying too hard.
