Is this the first player that can take an attacking actually at the goal free kick? As in not a floaty ball to fuck all? 😉

24 is the most beers I have drank in one night just thought would throw that out there.Welcome to a great club Rhian👍

Is anyone brave enough to predict this was a foolhardy signing?

If after 10 games....he fails to score a goal.
Then you can bet....there’ll be plenty of comments.
”Why did we pay so much for someone who’s never played in the PL” and
“we’ve been robbed...it was obvious ww massively overpaid“

Then if he does play really well and goes back to Liverpool in 3 years
you can bet there’ll be the cries “why did we agree to such a stupid buy back deal”?

No

My point is...the people who were complaining we have no ambition to buy top players
will be the ones if he starts badly complaining “why did we buy a youngster with zero PL experience“
I think we have overpaid but we had no choice...the market would be crazy whoever we bought
and with Mouset being injured we are really weak in forward areas.

Its a real positive that we’re bringing in so many young players hungry to improve and succeed.
Wilder is obviously thinking about laying foundations for the future.

Well done to the Prince / Board for sanctioning this. I get the impression that we really couldn't afford it, but have somehow massaged the funds to make it possible.
i get the impression that we really can’t afford to get relegated but we are doing everything we can to stop this being a possibility

Right who else we signing? I'm sure we can get a few hundred pages on another thread by Monday

I'll say it....on the face of it great signing and the money may be a lot but we are paying for potential. He is 20 and should only get better.

Will offer a caveat and say unless we improve our creativity, crossing and penetration then I am concerned we will get the best out of him or he will have much impact straight away/this season so hope people dont start moaning if he does not score or ganes pass him by at first.

I see him as more of a box player (yes know he scored a few powerful shots from.the edge of the box for Swansea) so not sure he is someone who'll work back or do much link stuff...apparently that's why Liverpool let him go as Klopp loves pressing forwards with mobility/versatility which his three have.

If we can improve the balls into the box and get it forward quicker than we have done then he is a good finisher but does a lot of one touch stuff so playing it in after lots of intricate build up/overloads wont see the best out of him I feel. We may have to tweak or diversify our approach to get the best out of him.

Looking at who was out there he does seem the best out there (considering we dont seem to trust the foreign market) even though hes never played a PL minute.

Excited but cautious...I still feel we need another midfielder who can make things happen with Fleck off form and Lundstram seemingly erm...off!

but saying that hopefully wilder doesnt expect him to run back into midfield like McG because thats not his game. He needs to stay in the bloody area

I’m worried about the massive expectation as though he’s the next Michael Owen (or should I say Keith Edwards ha)
No pre-season with us....doesn’t know our tactics..logic suggests he’ll be an underwhelming signing for the first few months.
It’s next season that I’ll be judging him properly. At least it’s a great sign of ambition....the Prince, Wilder and Bettis all deserve credit.
Even If this signing fails....i won’t have a short memory...i’ll appreciate that SUFC gambled and finally showed some ambition.

You love to see it
