Moving to Palace would not make sense why would he want to go there and sit on the bench when he can play first team football at the Lane unless it is for money.

The thing that I find funny is

The people that are bigging up Brewster saying he’s worth it for 25 million
will be the same people slagging off Brewster when he struggles in his first few games....it could be like McBurnie revisited.

If his agent has read this thread he’d advise him to go to Palace where he can start on the bench, develop in preparation to produce next season not this season.
It’s totally unrealistic and madness...to pin our hopes for the season on a young lad who has hardly played any top level football.
The expectation will be a massive weight.....good job our fans aren’t in the stadium...even next year might be tough for him. Suspect Liverpool know what they are doing....they know he’s not good enough for the next 2 or 3 years (probably lower end to average PL level)..but in 3 or 4 years he could be a top PL striker.

We need to show patience to our young players...not write them off after a few games when playing at a totally new (more difficult) level.

I rate McBurnie and with the right service he could get us 10+ goals a season the problem is lack of creativity in midfield.

The fact we do not play with any natural out and out attacking midfielder doesn't help.

I agree. However, I also think McBurnie himself is part of the issue

All his best work is way outside the box. That needs to be someone else’s job. As a striker he needs to be on the last man at all times. I don’t think he does that enough. Just my opinion.

Possibly both issues are causing his goal drought problem?

Probably due to the fact we have played so deep for the most part in many games recently and that is part of the problem.

Agree good point...I think it’s because our system is so good at creating chances from the wings.
In the past we had Mark Duffy in midfield who could beat a man opening up some space..giving us a central threat.
McGoldrick is clever and provides a threat from attacking midfield but he lacks strength and physicality to burst past his markers.
We lack that thrust and threat from midfield....although maybe that the plan for Berger...to be our main man...he’s certainly looked good so far this season.

Regards McBurnie I’m still open minded/ undecided but he has plenty of time to improve...don’t think he’ll ever be prolific...he’s not that type of striker.
Think his strength is he has a good allround game. He wins headers...does the donkey work...help link midfield with attack....decent passer....I also like his winning, fully committed attitude...McBurnie could be really good foil for a proper striker next to him

I’d love to know how you’ve worked that one out when there’s about 15 days of the window left
He’s preparing for disappointment, it’s the Sheffield way. It’s been dragging on for 24 hours now since Liverpool signed Jota.

Eze who we were linked with earlier this year would have been perfect for that role and the type of player we have been crying our for.

Just mentioned on Talk Sport that CW upping his interest. Mentioned in the rumour section on Darren Bent show.

Agree again, last season up to the Liverpool game we played some beautiful possession based football...consistently making the opposition look poor.
Then we played away at Liverpool and based on general play we’re totally outclassed.

Since that game we’ve reverted more to defending in numbers and relying on counter attack. Our focus for a while now has been all about making us tough to beat (which we excell at) instead of being brave/ attacking with no pressure and taking the game to the opposition.

After 3 weeks he's upped his interest? Maybe our opening bid has now moved on to somewhere near Liverpool's asking price.

Get it done we need a cutting edge.

Was only a passing interest until he saw another 100 pages on this thread.
