So "Blades close in on Liverpool's Rhian Brewster" is the headline based on an interview in which, when Wilder was asked specifically about the kid, his response was:

"Yes, that's an area of the pitch we're looking at"

Just wait for the "insert radio sheff journo" "we believe reports linking Sheff Utd to x to be true.

That's when I start to believe

They originally had the headline as “talks enter advanced stage” I called them out saying the headline doesn’t correlate with the article and they changed it to that

When Radio Sheffield comment on a deal its already happened a week earlier! I do think they could keep us up to date more at the stages before a deal is done, but as others have said re James Shield, I think its partly to do with ht desire to keep good relations with the club. I;m not saying that Radio Sheff should be breaking names when deals haven't happened, but when the names already out it would be nice for an update.

Barcodes are sniffing around now seeing as Dwight Gayle is out injured for 3 months.

Also, Dubravka (keeper) is out for "several weeks"!

Piece on Brewster in the Athletic, co written by Liverpool ITK James Pearce. We aren’t mentioned once. “Plenty would like to take him off their hands. In fact, a long list of clubs that includes Aston Villa, Newcastle, Burnley, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Fulham in the Premier League, and Norwich, Bournemouth, Watford and Swansea in the Championship, have registered their interest in signing Brewster on a season-long loan this summer.”

I wonder now whether Wilder’s willingness not to quickly change the subject with Giddings yesterday was actually because he’d named someone that wasn’t on the mark.

“That include” I wouldn’t look too much in to that article.

Nah, I can't imagine the best team in the league would loan their talented striker to the most anti-football team in the league. Not likely to help his progression.

Reading that piece its clear how much Klopp rates him. He wont be sold and they are talking about him being a better option than Origi so may not even go on loan.

The point about Wilder not changing the subject is a very good one.

With it being a loan we can actually compete with clubs like Villa, Brighton & Palace financially.

Liverpool will want to balance game time, with how much of his wages we pay.

Only thing against us is Woodburn not getting a look in.

Unless LFC blame United for stunting Woodburn's development, the fact that he hardly ripped-up L1 while on loan at Oxford may be a good indication of his ability level for Klopp and coaching team.

The decision on Brewster's next steps should not be swayed by the Woodburn experience. I would hope seeing first hand how CW manages the club, develops the players and gets 100% out of them would be much more of an influencing factor

That's because Woodburn turned out to be shite. Seems to have found his level in League 1
