How about these quotes from the thread:
"Fucking get in there."
"If I ever see you I'll be asking if you're going to give any of the money you stole back to the people who actually work for a living."
"Good riddance, fuck off and don't ever come back unless it's to apologise"
The last two were mine, and you know what? They might be harsh, but I stand by them. Ryan France has been a massive waste of money. He hasn't in any way, shape or form justified 99% of the money he has been paid, unless of course he's been on Statutory Sick Pay, which I very much doubt. Still, even if he's has to stand the first three days that's not much in two years, is it?
I have had stick on here for supporting players some deem beyond even the basic courtesy of no wishing them a painful death, but I cannot find one redeeming feature in any aspect of Ryan France's time as a Sheffield United "player" bar the time he wore a shit jumper to visit some children in hospital last Christmas.
I would genuinely ask Ryan France if he felt that he'd earned the money he's been paid by Sheffield United and if he'd consider giving some or even most of it back to those of us who don't earn thousands of pounds a week as a gesture to the fans who have paid for his two years enforced holiday.
And I don't believe anybody at any future home games would even bother taking their hands out of their pockets to clap him if he was paraded before the crowd at a match in the way other past players are. I even suspect that he would get booed. And why? Because he's been paid handsomely for basically being poorly.
It's a shame that he's no longer able to play football professionally - if he was still able to play he might have managed more than ten games for us, and his money. He will no doubt be able to invest some of his money and put his degree in P.E. to good use, perhaps in bullying school children in gymnasiums or on cross-country runs.
It's true that he can't continue in his chosen career, but considering he chose not to turn professional until he'd finished at university then he's hardly had a one-track-mind towards football. Plus he'll be able to use his money so he can perhaps do a job that he enjoys rather than doing one because he needs the money to pay his bills every week, unlike the majority of us.
I'd be quite happy with half a million quid sat in the bank - no more 50+ hour weeks, certainly no starting at stupid o'clock in the morning. I'd carry on working, but I'd probably have a rather easy life ot it. Much as Ryan France will no doubt be having.
So, the question remains - will you give any of the money back, Ryan? Because if your wages were based on value for money it would only be enough to live for around three days.
