Hopefully the Prince has plans in place to invite him back as guest of honour for a game next season, on tge pitch at half time,, covid permitting a decent size crowd to show their appreciation
The fecker had a lowball release clause which meant Everton had our pants down in 2007 - we didn't sell him , dem Toffees stole him for peanuts after he inexplicably stuck his hand up to a cross or corner , which relegated us + massively increased his wages - I wonder if Colin was on a cut of those wages after they both left us to our 12 years outta the PL ?

We all know there is something fishy about the LunnyCunt saga because it makes no sense whatsoever. All that Duffy (hero of promotion) did was to ask for a cheeky wage rise + CW chucks him out on his ear , in an unnecessarily extreme version of his policy of "if they don't want to be here I will drive them to where they reckon it better" .
Lunny starts to act the cunt over his contract in late 2019 / early 2020 , yet CW not only tolerates it , he actually plays him when he's out of form.
Then in the 20/21 season , Lunny all but drops his keks + shits in the centre circle , taking the piss out of the club with shambolic lazy performances , stooping low enough to throw in a crazy unnecessary tackle early in games to get himself booked so he can justify "shuffling around for the remaining 80mins.
And CW continues to pick him !
Totally against his own stated policy of chucking out any player acting the twat. Bizarre !
The rest of the squad now think to themselves "why should I bother to put a shift in ? Coz the gaffer picks that ugly cunt every week even though he's obviously tossing it off".
And there you have it , relegation on a plate.
Someone at the Club should have insisted that CW chuck Lunny out before the rot set in - but no one on the Board had the balls to do it.
You can talk about your lack of crowds or JoC injury or misfiring midfield & strikers , to your heart's content - but the festering sore of Lunny was imho the single most influential factor in our relegation , which you could read in the players faces from early season.
In fact the 18 month Lunny saga was a sure sign to me that CW was losing the plot from the return after Lockdown "1.

I agree with every word. As you state, the other SUFC players could see that the lazy scouse twat was just tossing it off and was a total handicap to the side, and after a bit their heads went down as they knew it was at best (when he wasn't setting up the oppositions attack) 11 v 10 from the start. It was absolutely fucking bizarre that this twat kept getting picked. If everyone including all us PlayStation managers could all see the same thing maybe just maybe there was an element of truth in what we were saying...

CW was fantastic for 4 years and what a manager he was. Post lockdown the man lost it and was like a different manager. As much as he was responsible for getting us up there and getting us to a 9th place finish (outstanding) he was also totally responsible for this seasons total fuck up and the continual playing of the scouse twat was his biggest of a large pile of fuck ups.

Sander Berge, we've retained Sander Berge ! Somehow don't think he'll retain us

Made me laugh and lots of truth in that.

I do suspect that Duffy's "ask" might have been done in a particularly challenging way somehow. He just had that look about him.

The fact that we put up with Lunny's shit for as long as we did was very odd. Osborn was clearly a better option all this season and I've have mostly picked Ampadu ahead of him as well. It's not as if he's a particularly star player either.

Than you Jags and best of luck for the future. This was the lineup for his debut against Swindon in May 2000, when he came on as substitute.

How did that team actually line up? The back four (R-L) was presumably Kozluk, Murphy, Sandford, Quinn, and Bent was up front, but what about the rest? Devlin as a second striker, or did we play 4-5-1? Who was on the left wing?

Depends what formation he plays. As CB I dont see how Bryan is behind Robinson. We also dont know how JOC will return, long time out, big injury, been there myself when my right achilles snapped and wasnt the same player again.

More reason to get a quality centre half in, not more emergency backups

I’m fairly certain Ribeiro played on the left wing, with Devin on the right. Ford and Woodhouse played in midfield with Brownie getting up to support Bent.

Can understand the frustration at the way this season has gone as like and many more Blades I feel the same way.
Lunni is not the first player to let his contract run down infact its quiet common Aquaro for one .
Most do get used by there teams so the hatred of him is maybe a bit misguided.
Both Wilder& Heckingbottom said " no drop off in his stats", form is a different matter ! But he wasnt on his own on that one.
Dont beleave he didnt try as his stats showed he put in the hard yards like his team mates they were up there with the hardest working team (Leeds).
Perhapes we should cut him some slack it was obviouse like his team mates ! Confidence and beleaf was shot.
Let's put it to bed and look forward to some exciting winning football with our new manager if he gets us playing the attacking football Fulham displayed !

Honestly wonder if he was cutting his and our collective nose off to spite his face with Lundstram just to make a point to the board for not getting what he wanted even though he was backed to the club's best ability.

"Look at what I'm having to play because you won't get me so and so”

Otherwise why? He was abysmally off the boil.

His loss of form was one thing, and many would happily accept that, if there was a visible indication of effort, desire and fight on the pitch, that's what upset so many, what added to that was the realisation that despite being started every week, there was no perception of any effort to guarantee a transfer and more money, that's what really added to the criticism, knowing he was doing sod all, and would get a move and pay rise off the back of it,,he didnt exactly earn his move away to bigger/better

Not defending his lack of effort whatsoever, but no club is going to buy a player who has already indicated they are going to run down their contract, and that wouldn't be in his interest either

Agree,, to me it speaks volumes regards someone's character, put Basham or Booker in the same contractual position, if they were not happy with the terms, the effort on the pitch would have been apparent to stevie wonder watching a night game without floodlights, they would rip your arm off, to get the chance to prove they were worth more, Lundstrom simply couldn't be arsed, in a team who's form had dropped off a cliff, little if any effort would have seen him as the top rated player in the side, and yet, no tackles, no MoM performances and not one supporter that's said they are sorry to see him go.

disagree finlay will never forget his couldnt give a shit attitude hes a lucky boy there were no crowds at the lane he would have been slaughtered unacceptable im afraid although will say it was wilders fault for picking him strangest decision of his 5 years in charge of the club

Looking at those limited highlights you could well be right BB. Brown does pop up on the right 2 or 3 times.

dont think theres any way we will keep hold of berge but what a player he would be in the championship if somehow we could keep hold of him would be the ideal player for the central role in midfield of slavs preferred 433 system

both bryan and robinson looked out of their depth in the premier league at lcb but the championship is so much inferior in quality so they both should be ok as squad players suppose it depends how slav rates em once hes seen them in action
