Some interesting results in League One :

Walsall losing at home to Bury means that potentially if we win our two home games next week, we'll be top! :)

Wigan scored 3 in last 9 minutes at Chessy and sounds as though they played well before Chessy scored. I still think they will be our main challengers this season.

Swindon got back to winning ways to prove our win there was a tremendous result.

Gillingham won to go top again, however I don't see them sustaining it.

Looking forward to next 2 home games very much.

UTB!

I'm looking forward to the Bury game, should be a good atmosphere.
Saw the highlights of the games you mention. Walsall result was good for us. Gills remain the only unbeaten team in our league - I'm still waiting for their bubble to burst!

You deserve a medal if you braved the dreadful Channel 5 Football League Show. I watched 10 minutes last week and turned it off. I've been catching up with the goals on Sky.

A burton-Coventry draw today would finish the weekend off nicely and we can go top after the Colchester game in 10days

As we have found out in the last 5 years , EVERY game is a potential banana skin . Lets not talk ourselves into a fall . Positive yes , but positive with caution . We may get giddy , but i am sure Adkins knows, and realises the pitfall , with the players feet firmly on the ground.

There's only one table that matters. That's at the end of May. It's good to be there from the outset though. It means we're winning and enjoying it.

I don't think the league has settled down yet. I wouldn't expect many of the present top 8 to maintain a challenge, but then I look below and see little of consequence there either...maybe Wigan and Bradford will come into the picture?

Interesting.

You're absolutely right to be cautious but they are both very winnable games and I think we can allow ourselves a little confidence and optimism.

What's a potential banana skin look like, mate? :)

A banana, I suppose....

True about the table, although it would be nice to get to the top asap and then stay there.

footballs always unpredictable
Orient went to Exeter , who hadnt set the league on fire, as top and unbeaten and got tonked 4-0
walsall losing to Bury was on the cards as the tv people decided to focus on them , always stops a run

Just said we could go top? not that we would. It's in our hands and that's a good start.

Gem from last night, from the dopey fucktard with the top button fastened - "I'm finding it hard to explain how to explain how he missed that."

If Carlsberg did tv for rednecks...

Hoping we have a full strength defence for the weekend judging by the comments from Virgo on C5, says they're good up front but weak at the back. We don't want Clark to piss on our strawberries next week but, we have the forward line to give their back line a few nightmares.

Went to Chezzy yesterday and Wigan missed a hatful.Tommy Lee saved four one on ones. They misses a sitter worse than Sammons. I think once they settle they are going to be up there. The best player on show for me Chezzys left back Jones. Cant seeing him being their long..Its going to be interesting. Hope this helps.

The default I can't see Gillingham sustaining it arguments. Heard it all last year with Bristol. Gillingham destroyed us and are undefeated looking solid and dangerous. No reason to believe they will suddenly become shit for no reason.

It's very early days. I certainly can't see Gillingham sustaining it. Who says it will be sudden? There's 40 games left! I well remember people telling me not to write off Tranmere...

They didn't destroy us by the way. We're alive, well and doing fine. We'll be comfortably in front of Gillingham when it matters.

The next two games are Colchester and Bury, and if we play to our strengths we should win both of them, certainly Nigel Adkins seems to send them out with a gameplan, and a mindset that gives the players confidence in what they need to do, and confidence that they can execute the gameplan.

If we win both them we will go top, and be in a great position at the summit with confidence high going to a couple of tricky looking games.

That's the twat who was rolling about all over when Higdon got sent off there. How about Wigan, who looks good for them?
