Are Championship managers effectively signing their own resignation letter by winning the ultimate prize of promotion to the Premier League?

What's the average tenure of a championship level manager these days anyway? Pretty sure you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.

Chart 1 directly contradicts chart 2.

Because I've been off work with knee-knack I've had some time on my hands. I've had a look into this and found of the 60 promoted teams over the past 20 years:
  1. 16 managers resigned; 7 for another club. Three resigned after promotion: Enzo Maresca (Leicester 23/24, left for Chelsea), Judas Bruce (Humberside Jungle Cats 15/16) and Slaviša Jokanović (Watford 14/15)

  2. 33 managers were sacked but most survived at least one season (20/33). Over the last 5 years that has changed with 6 of the 9 managers to lose their jobs after promotion sacked before Christmas

  3. 3 managers are still at the club they were promoted with: Thomas Frank (Brentford, 2020/21), Marco Silva (Fulham 2021/22) and Kieran McKenna (Ipswich Town, 2023/24)

  4. As we all know, surviving in the top flight has become more difficult. Over the last 20 years, 32 teams stayed up and 28 were relegated. Over the past 5 seasons, it has switched to 6 staying up and 9 getting relegated

  5. No manager promoted in the last 5 years has left their post after Christmas in the season following promotion. Teams choosing to sack their managers are doing it earlier (1x August, 1x October, 2x November, 2x December). Of those teams, two survived (Bournemouth in 2022/23 after sacking Scott Parker in August; FOReST TSCs in 2023/24 after sacking Steve Cooper in December) while four were relegated (Watford in 2021/22 after sacking Xisco in October; Norwich in 2021/22 after sacking Daniel Farke in November; United in 2023/24 after sacking Paul Heckingbottom in November & Southampton in 2024/25 after sacking Russell Martin in December)

  6. Last 5 seasons:

    and those managers/clubs:
