Sorry but that is absolute rubbish and highlights what the OP has stated.
I don't get to many games at all, so I've not got any preconceived ideas about any of the players. Maybe he did hold things up well. But there were a number of times when he was in a good position and a little anticipation & movement (not even quick movement) could have either opened them up or at least kept possession.

I think it's fair to expect more in terms of his touch and his passing sometimes but it's clear he lacks general mobility so we can't expect him to be making runs all over the place.

Personally I think we need to play a different style when he's in the team, based on getting it wide and getting crosses in the box for him. A 3-5-2 system in theory should have been ideal for him but the other players we had in the team didn't work in that system. How many good balls did we put in today? One?

Perfect assessment that. He had a respectable game yesterday, but not once did we land a cross on his bonce. He's got goals in him, but I feel for the bloke because we seldom play in the way he needs us to.

Any striker needs to make runs, regardless of build. Look at Ricardo Lambert now. I don't expect him to hare after balls or tear down the wing, but being static is not acceptable.

I'd never boo a player for lack of ability. I had a lot of time for Porter because he puts the effort in. He wasn't good enough, but that's not his fault.

Don't go to many games? If you had you would have noticed Higdon tries to be a target man and not a jinking midfielder or fancy winger which means 2 of his main jobs are holding up the ball and linking up play. He did this very well yesterday. As for the 3rd(and main part of his game) he is yet to impress

Agree that yesterday was Higdon's best game for us. Looked much stronger and more committed. More of that please!
