I’ve seen today (and many other days) posts, comments and responses regarding the death, untimely or otherwise of Blades.

Please do not take this post as a ‘forum Police’ or something similar, I read, laugh, tear up at the heartfelt comments and thoughts of fellow Blades and wonder whether a dedicated section/ forum might be the best place for us all to celebrate the life of fellow Blades.

It seems somewhat of a disservice to place the thoughts and condolences under ‘General Blades chat’ and wonder whether a dedicated section is more fitting to our tributes?

Sleeping Blades or Blades Heaven Kop....:(
RIP all blades having a peroni in the blades cloud bar

general adjective
  1. affecting or concerning all or most people or things; widespread.

Think it would be a little better, if there was a pre-title, like in the rumour mill, there you have the "incoming/outgoing" suffixes in an orange box, maybe a "In Rememberance" suffix with a black background and white lettering???

I think it's fine as it as, and having an obituary section on a football forum would be bizarre.

Keep it here in General Blades Chat where it will be seen by all straight off, I would say is best.

RIP to them all and UTB forever!
Good idea to initially post in general chat for all to see. But rather than let the post slip down the order, eventually disappearing, admin could move it to a new relevant section. Family and friends will not then have to search for the post when they want to have a read through all the kind thoughts and words.

It has been mentioned a few times by many of us.
Would suggest it stays in GBC so people do not miss it but we have a memorial wall with just the names and date so you can then click on to refresh your memory of what a member was like.
You may also have to consider that relatives may wish them to be removed from here.

We filled up our senses
like a seance in Bradway
like a haunting at Hillsborough
like a scare in the dark
like a night out in Sheffield
like flowers at my graveside
like Sheffield United
you thrilled me back then

la la la la la laaa wooooooo!

Not sure about the « w » at the starrt of « oooooooo ». Unless its there as a link between two vowels ie. « a » and « o »

Keep it where it is that way all Blades get to see. To move to a small thread somewhere else would be a lack of respect as everyone needs to see it. Not everyone will reply to it but everyone gets to see it. So please don’t move it that is all.

I think it would be good to keep it hear for a week or two and then move it into a separate section.

Outgoing. Incoming for new born babies.

Several good suggestions here, which deserve consideration.
Perhaps we could also have a separate section for deceased animals, named in honour of esteemed poster Deadbat. I'll get mi' coat.

Would these count in the attendance figures??

The idea of a rememberance subforum is nothing new- some other football forums have a rememberance subforum to remember past players and fans.

Maybe Foxy can consider it. I'd be all for it myself, or a prefix.
