Remember that week in April 1997?

Ah Fjortoft, would kill for a forward of his ilk now.

Would probably get pelters for not tracking back or putting himself about enough

That was because Charles Green set up a ticket distribution policy as if he was selling to Man Utd fans:

"If you were born on a wednesday, your name starts with a J and your favourite Jovian moon is Ganymede, go to Turnstyle 63 on a thursday morning between 3 and 4 am and you can buy 1 ticket per voucher".

Palace just sold 'em on the basis of "4 tickets per person" that turned up in the queue when the went on sale. They sold out.

Oh right, never knew that, always wondered why there were so many empty seats. I also remember there being a big delay for some coaches, seem to remember a load of fans only getting into the stadium just before half time. All round crap day!

There werent many positive Blades fans at Wembley from what I can remember

From what I remember, before the game Blades fans seemed in very positive mood. Outside the Greyhound boozer there was a great atmosphere pre-match, with Kendall's "whiskey in hand and a couple of cans" and "Jan-age, a lager" chants sticking in my mind. Remember that was the first play off final for United, when the fans and club hadn't been mentally scarred by numerous play off final defeats. Think by the time of the Burnley final most United fans had chucked in the towel for us ever winning one.

I think it was harder for us to make noise at the old Wembley

A year or so ago, Jan Aage Fjortoft told the story on Twitter of how Kendall took the squad to the Isle of Man after the Ipswich games. Fjortoft said that he asked if they were taking a football with them and Kendall replied "F*** off". JAF said it still makes him angry now. Also, what about Kendall's God-awful green shirt he wore for the final?
