Go on then...

We've had a thread asking if you want us to go down or not. But how about this one:

With 14 games left, do you think we can stay up?

Public poll.

It's a slim possibility, so yes.

That said, my mortgage isn't going to be transferred into Blades Futures anytime soon. :)

Can't see where we're going to get another win from at the minute so its a no from me.

I think we're completely devoid of ideas. So sadly, I can't see us being anywhere other than League One next season.

(Hoping that the Footballing Gods spite me).

I don't think we can avoid it. We've a strike force with a total of two lucky penalties in three games, and have less shots on target than the French army. Relegation is staring us in the face. the main question should be how we deal with it - current evidence would seem to indicate that "badly" will be on the cards.

I don't want us to go down. I don't want the piss taking that will follow, and I don't want us to be shit for another year. What I want though and what I get don't always happily coincide. Relegation is almost certain. And considering the grandiose plans we all fell for after promotion just five short years ago have all come to nothing I personally wouldn't rely on our wonderful board to be capable of anything more complex than finding their arses with both hands and a decent map.

Richard Cresswell - 3 years
Ched Evans - £20K per week.

A couple of examples that demonstrate what a job it will be to turn this crock of sh1t around.

There's always hope of a kind I suppose, but if you're not including the "Vorders, Rachel, what on earth are you both doing in my bed" type of hope, then it's a no from me too.

Before today I was sure we'd somehow survive, but with a 5 point gap it's looking dire. I think it's likely unless we have a very good run that we are down.

I think the poll shows exactly what the majority of supporters think of our chances. In this case I'm with the majority, they're only going one way and it aint up. Even with a win against Scunthorpe we have a lot left to do and its not just about climbing out of the bottom three, we then have to get enough results to stay out of it for the rest of the season.....look at our recent form and tell me where those wins are going to come from.

At the moment it looks more about which bottom 3 place we'll fill.
When you think about the kind of chaos that's likely to ensue in the summer, we maybe ought to have a poll on whether we'll avoid relegation from League One next year.

Just looking at the fixtures:

14 games left this season.

7 Away games, inc Scunthorpe and Preston.
7 Home games, inc. Middlesbrough.

IF, and its a big if, but IF we can somehow teach one of our players the way to score again, then there are points to be had.

Micky needs to find a way to motivate them. I've been thinking about SotonBlade's suggestion earlier today that MA should transfer list the whole bloody lot of them. It's not a great option, but with the transfer window closed would it have the desired option? I don't know.

Something has to give. 42 points to play for, fingers crossed we can get enough.

We are fucked.

Bring back the brown and yellow away strip, Reg Brealey and Colin, (GOD) Morris, cos all hope is lost

Of course we can. It's still February, we have plenty of games left, and nothing is set in stone. I didn't think we were safe and West Ham were doomed after we won 3-0 in '07 - we should know better than other fans that it isn't over till it's over. It will be tough, but it's possible that we can still escape. We need a quick win soon though, desperately.

This morning, yes we could.
This evening, no we can't.

Why is there always someone willing to burst every sodding balloon?

There are too many shitty things happening in this world to let a (another) defeat affect your outlook on life, time for a reality check for some on here. (I've been supporting the Blades since the late 70's so I can remember some other bad times too). At 119 mins into the Everton Chelsea game today who would have thought that Everton would have made it thru? Its never over till the fat lady sings!

Agree ,one win will give untold confidence on and off the pitch. Two wins and we are back in the mix, we aren't the only side on a terrible run ,and with a bit of luck we are better than 3 or 4 of them.
We must also stick with Adams now and get some stability into the club. I actually think in hindsight the Speed experiment was a more damaging than Robson and Blackwell. Go with Adams now and give him time to build.

Well said that man!

Agreed.
I'm fucking pissed off with the whole situation, but, a hell of a lot of points still to play for. Plenty of shite around us to suggest picking up points will drag us up IMO.

We all hope we can perform a miracle and suddenly play differently to the first 30-odd games.
But I think in a lot of hearts we know that we've brought this on ourselves and, in a sense, the club deserves to go down.

Heck no. Speed spent next to nowt was given a slightly less offensive shit sandwich to munch on than Adams was.

Robbo cost us untold millions.

Your assumption is valid but how will we pick up points if we can't score (not counting Boggy's two pens)? And without scoring we won't pick up points - draws are now meaningless (I nearly said pointless :)).

Its over we are down ,definitely no way back .I know it ,you know it and based on what I heard from McCabe at Hallam Uni Thursday night he is resigned to letting it happen, the only thing that can save this shit hole of a season would be if the pigs continued to slide .

I am convinced after listening to his non commital rhetoric(born within spitting distance, dad took me to the reserves bolox) that unless we off load him asap ,next year could see us slide straight through ,and this is from someone who has always thought of him as a saviour ,not anymore Kev.

I walked out of the Wigan game a few years back knowing it was a moment in time, but never knowing how bad it would get ,so close to IT whatever IT is ,so sad to see it all fall away bit by bit .:cry2::cry2:

Been down to the fourth before cant see me doing it again ,will give it a go next season but after 45 years ,34 as a season ticket holder I am beginning to think our lasses idea of moving to Greece ,which I`ve always said would never happen unless I could afford to fly back every weekend is actually a possibility.

No - we can't. McCabe is a disgrace, Adams is out of his depth and most of the players aren't fit to wear the shirt. I actually think we will finish bottom. I'll keep going though, hoping for a miracle....
