I agree we should just move him on now.

The club and 3 managers do not feel he is good enough. He has had a number of loans lower down and was only a regular for the last dozen of games at Hull

However as Silent Blade says we are maybe just trying to make as much as we can via loan fees and then when he does leave next summer when he is out of contract we will get another fee due to his age (albeit small).

Another one out, another one in??????

Once again this shows how good our academy is. Even through being in league 1 all those years and not having any future star youth players untill now, we still managed to produce tyler smith (championship player), slater (championship player), Long (championship/Lg1), reed (Lg1), RND (international and championship), whiteman (championship). They’ll all have solid careers

When you consider where we were and what the brief would have been when these lads were coming through it’s a great success for the academy. These lads were coming through during the league one years if we were still there a decent proportions of the team would be home grown.

We hold his registration until he is 24. Probably had to sign a new contract before he goes on loan? Probably why his dad isnt happy
We hold his registration as long as we offer him a contract at least equal to his previous one. We could have released him if we had so chosen.

Sell him to Rotherham. Better for him, a more likely starter, bit of cash now, not some fantasy time in the future and still insist on a sell on clause.

Plus, what do Hull think we are, the Salvation Army?

Is that still the case as we didn’t offer him a contract did we? We just exercised the year extension? Sell the lad to Rotherham fee will
be nominal so stick in a sell on fee

Hull City see Regan Slater deadline day transfer collapse at the 11th hour
The Blades midfielder's proposed move to the MKM Stadium has fallen through

No doubt his old man will be on SM having a pop at SUFC for not giving the lad away.

Release him. Shite.
He’s not shite he might not be good enough to play for us with where we want to be but he’s not shite. I don’t know how hull have managed to scupper this one given we let them have smith for nothing other than sell ons.

He still with is then?
Reckon Hull have tried to shithouse us over a sell on clause and weve told em to do one?

This is the same Hull City (under a different big fat twat of a manager admittedly) that were happy to low ball us for Harry Maguire cos they knew we needed the cash and McCabe was in the chair.

Personally, I wouldn't give them the steam off my piss and would away any deal with them majorly in our favour or we don't deal with them.

According to The Hull Daily Mail, a trio of clubs want the 22-year-old. The report from the HDM claims that Hull, Preston North End, and Rotherham United are all keen. Slater, who is out of contract in the summer, stayed put despite helping Hull to promotion last term. However, things haven’t worked out yet again at Bramall Lane and a move away seems the most likely option.

Doesn’t make much sense to loan him now unless we’re bringing in reinforcements in January. May as well keep him as depth for a few months we won’t get a fee in January

Agreed, don’t see many needless departures. The call to put an end to cancellations will inevitably come so we will
Need as many bodies as possible
