Isn't it strange how all these blades who live on the other side of the world and can't get to any games, can suddenly get to the game against the pigs?

Not as strange as all those Blades who live in Sheffield and haven't got 500 loyalty points.

(Apologies to anyone aged under ten, or refused admittance dogs. Obviously this comment doesn't apply to you)

SUFC are very good at having different category games for ticket prices, they should do something similar but reversed for away game points allocation.

Non-Category A game
The away game on Sky, 25% extra loyalty points.
The away game on red button, 50% extra loyalty points.

Any other away game normal allocation.

A fax machine gag or someone being likened to Hitler will make this thread complete.

That so called Sean Thornton is just like Hitler, what with his daft moustache, crap painting skills and love of black leather.

Adolf's body was never found and there are rumours he is still holed up in a bunker on Parkhill Berg, with some fanatical Nazis and several tonnes of Masserella's Yorkshire Mix.

You heard it here first.....

You fibber It was Granelli's Yorkshire Mix. Eva used to work one of the ice cream vans.

And there was I, willing to let "pigoen" go......

Cat amongst the pigeons here now but just a thought

Loyalty points are issued on games attended and of course money into United's coffers. But points are really awarded when we spend money - correct.

The question is should anyone watching United via the red button get loyalty points? As they are spending via Sky and United get some of that and all live matches on Sky United get a chunk of money

Should anyone watching via ifollow get loyalty points?
They are buying in to watch with United getting a high percentage of the fee

I am sure there are arguments for and against but what’s your thought as money is changing hands

Your thoughts. Should loyalty points be issued for this?
No.

There’s enough pressure on the act of actual attending, without further incentivising armchair support.

No, there was a report yesterday on the significantly decreased attendances for Championship midweek games since iFollow/Red Button.

I had thought about this myself this week - loyalty points for ifollow. Hadn’t realised it would be such an unpopular suggestion.

I think ifollow subscribers should get some points. It costs £100/year - so perhaps something equivalent to about 3 home games in terms of loyalty points.

As for anyone questioning the loyalty of overseas blades - I get up at 2am every Sunday morning to watch (luckily it’s only midnight between April and October), and either 4:45am or 6:45am for midweek games. People think I am mad.

Finally, there has been a suggestion that overseas blades are not loyal (because they left to chase the money or whatever). I think that’s a pretty unfair way to judge loyalty. Life is complicated. I actually get paid less than I would in the UK, not even considering the cost of living being considerably higher. I have planned some trips back to the UK to follow the blades for pre-season friendlies. How many would take several weeks of annual leave to go to Cheltenham and Plymouth?

I think the points system could be improved - more points based on more money spent and inconvenience of attending - but no system is completely fair for everybody and i don’t think the current system is too bad.

Those with less than 500 points who want to attend the derby really have nothing to complain about.

Re-arrange this well known phrase " serious you are fucking ?"

Quote B56, "My friend wants to know if we get points for watching illegal streams?"

Debbie does Dallas does not count........

Buggered the quotey thingy up....:(
