I'd rather keep a level head and take things on face value WWF.

It's the same with you every season though.

Look at you, you are a changed man. Last season we sold your season ticket after half a dozen games of the season because you chucked your toys out of the pram, and then in the next breath you are lecturing Woodwardfan about keeping a level head.

Sometimes you have to join in. You're right , each new manager I look for positives and try to encourage unity between fans as so many seem to wish failure upon us.

Look at my permanent signature though, that's the acid test.

Well then you're embarking on an impossible task. Fanbase is so large that fan dynamics cannot be changed by one voice. If I shout on the south stand "everybody raise your right hand" - are they going to listen?

But if you must persist, what about doing it without condemning those who are realist, take things on face value and don't get caught up in the hysteria? Honest suggestion btw.

Presumably your voice wasn't heard very often on the South Stand last season.

Would you be able to tell us why?

Anyone would think you didn't post the "thinking about turning my back for good" thread.

Had you forgotten about that? Anyway, I'd rather continue a discussion with somebody whom I don't feel like I'm talking to a child.

It's not your lack of positivity that bothers me to be honest, it's your downright negativity at every opportunity.

There's no chance of you ever "getting caught up in the hysteria" but if you could just lay off for a while until things bed down, rather than jumping on every slight hiccup along our way, that would be so positive and supportive. You are a supporter after all.

I'm not the one jumping on any hiccups. I'm trying, for your own good, not mine, to get you and those like you to calm down a bit and stop getting carried away and then telling off those who aren't, in the name of "uniting the fans" - despite that being impossible as I've already explained.

But the question have you got. A season ticket for next season, or are you going to be sniping from the sidelines as normal, perhaps you might attend a game, or is that a step to far.

Step too far.

FOOTBALL IS A TEAM GAME,
You don't need eleven outstanding players to make an outstanding team, because a good team is a blend of players that compliment each other .....

......and what about the previous 51 weeks of the past year?o_O

Phew, I thought this thread was going to be about us signing another inappropriate player....

I did post that thread but i still didn't show myself up to the same extent that you did. Did you ever find out what Sitwells avatar was about, i seem to remember you getting a bit offended by that?

They're not realists Barney. They're either depressed or come on here to wind people up.

The pre-season is going well, if you can't enjoy that then I wonder why on earth you wouldn't spend / time on a different hobby. Because you're wasting your time with football.

Back to the OP... I wonder if the pots are for fees, wages and loans. The sort of player we'll pay a fee for will strictly be ones with high potential resale value. The wages one is a bit of a catch-all whilst loans are for prem youngsters and emergencies.

We decide how the budget is split up front, then assemble a squad accordingly. Theoretically achieving the sort of balance and future planning we've not had since errr... 2003?

I'd like to know where the board/McCabe are "backing the manager as ever "? From what I can see Wilder has a transfer kitty due to him dumping half the squad from last season. Even if 3 more come in it will still be less than this summers out goings. It will be interesting to see if we bring in many more players without we sell one or two so I'll wait and see what happens before accepting that McCabe is backing the manager as some are spouting.
