Should we win our next 2 league games v Carlise and Preston, we will equal the club record for consectutive wins in the league, thus setting us nicely to beat the record in the 125th anniversary game.
Incidentally, I am not entirely sure what the record is for consecutive league and cup wins is. In Aug and Sept 2005 we won 8 league games on the trot and interspersed with those beat Boston and Shrewsbury in the League Cup. However, the latter win was on pens, which I don't count (see a previous argument on here).
If you do count that, that is 10 league and cup wins in a row. Other than that, have we ever done better than 8?

The bugger knows the answers already, otherwise he wouldn't have posted it

The bugger doesn't actually. He knows the 8 wins in a row is the league record (I think we have actually done that 4 times, most recently in 2005-06), but, apart from the dubious 05-06 example, doesn't know if that has ever been bettered in league and cup.

Another interesting point.

I bet we have never won 6 on the trot and lost 6 on the trot in the same league season before, as we have this season. We did 5 both ways in 95-96, but I don't think 6 has ever happened.

Firstly you dont believe in fate do you?
Secondly, i'm starting to worry about you when you have to ask us answers to questions that you would normally know, i'm even wondering if someone has hacked your account? The old Darren would never stand for this lack of knowledge :o)
Thirdly, surely we can beat Carlisle? It's the Preston game that will be trickier, the way we are playing we should believe
we can win.
