There are positives.
The mid section of the 2nd half reminded me of our promotion team in league 1.
We we’re totally dominant, it was actually entertaining, we were turning the screw and you sensed a goal was just a matter of time.

I was chatting to a few near me on the Kop and at the 75 minute mark we all commented how the performance was much better.
We said even if it ends 0-0 there were still so many positives, a step in the right direction
HOWEVER the theory was put forward that Huddersfield were a really poor side and likely to be relegated.

Personally I think we STILL haven’t sorted out the link between midfield and attack.
Our main weapon used to be Mark Duffy. We never replaced him and found that McGoldrick could fill in and play the “Duffy role“.
We look more than decent overall BUT we don’t have a formula to create chances.

We won't come good until we stop having one tactic of knock it wide and cross it in, then when that doesn't work, pass it back and hoof.

We'll come good when players make off the ball runs into space for players to pass into their feet, or keeping the ball and running with it instead of playing hot potato and shirking responsibility. If we stick with the norm then the norm of not scoring and not winning will continue.

Every opposing manager knows to sit back and flood the box when we have the ball, and not put pressure on whoever's got it, so they can snuff out the inevitable cross from wide. It's painful to watch. The only way we can score is from free kicks or a corner and we all know how they pan out.

So drop Baldock basically

The negative viewpoint is that the style under Slav reminds me of the Robson early matches.

We’re controlling games (like we did under Robson), plenty of nice patient passing keeping possession
but our attacks seem too slow. Our first thought seems to be pass sideways or backwards
so we make it harder for ourselves, opposition defences are given time to regain their shape
so we struggle to create clear chances. We need someone like a Steve Kabba who will run at their defenders
or a Mark Duffy with trickery to dribble past the last defender, maybe even drawing a challenge in the box for a penalty.

Let’s hope Slav doesn’t become an early season casualty, like Brian Robson.
