Swear Grealish and Dean Smith have had more press coverage towards winning promotion with their boyhood clubs than Billy and Chris did.

Not to mention Chris and Billy managed it 1 month quicker with 90M less spending in the past 3 years.

Just feel like whilst their promotion may be impressive due to their turnaround, it's definitely not as impressive as our turnaround under Wilder with the money we have and the players we have that were almost discarded at their respective clubs before Wilder signed them.

It was always going to happen . Villa are media a media darling type big club and Greaselish is the new Pele

They would far rather talk about them than scruffy northern oils like Wilder and Sharp. We are favourite's to be bottom, so get ready for a season of being patronised and written off.

We have had a lot of coverage they just have something more attractive to talk about now.

Honestly, does it really matter? Villa are a big club, spent a considerable amount of time in the PL and have just won the biggest game of the season, of course they'll be talked about on t.v. We had our fair share of coverage when we got promoted and now it's died down and the playoff winners will take the spotlight.

Agreed with all of the above, we aren't fashionable enough for them to talk about longer term, but that doesn't bother me one bit. Let's get ready to surprise a few more!!

Media coverage is very important. It's how clubs make money - if other clubs get more publicity then us, then they will be getting more exposure to places other than just England meaning more money

So should the club email Sky Sports, BBC Sport & BT Sports and remind them we've been promoted and they need to come down to the club to do a few interviews? Like I said, they've done all that, what else can they really report on until our court cases is sorted out or we sign our first player of the summer?

After reading the OP, I thought for a second I was on Pork or The WACCOE forums.

We're better than this!

Quite funny seeing how many people are offended by this :)

Have to admit Villa are one of the clubs that deserve to be called massive. 19 Cup and Championships, including the European Cup. Plus there crowds are also high. Still with a catchment area the size of Birmingham I don't think they're as good as ours, or Burnley.

They've had one and a half days of coverage at the end of the season when the only other news story yesterday was Arsenal fans being stopped in Baku for wearing shirts with the name of an Armenian player on them...

We won promotion, had our bus trip and got coverage for more than a week on various formats whilst Man City were on the way to winning the Premier league, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal all got to the finals of the European cups as well as 3 other divisions all finishing up the seasons and deciding promotion and relegation

Chris Wilder has been on lots of TV shows, notably football focus and of course, he was a pundit on the Play off final!

The play offs, like it or not is a huge spectacle in England, £170 Million for one game... our manager was alongside their manager and best player on the pitch at the end, smugly grinning as we'd not been through that two weeks and 3 games extra

I don't think we've done badly for coverage in fairness

The irony being that Wilder was at the play off final ‘getting coverage’ whilst Villa won promotion.

I don't think we could have had more exposure to be honest. We were all over the telebox / tinterweb for days after we secured promotion and Wilder has been on everything.

Norwich on the other hand.... you'd barely knew they went up, never mind as Champions. Quite bizarre that really.

We completely overshadowed Norwich coverage to be honest.

Not seeing any overkill of Villa either... maybe you are just noticing it more as theres very few games at this stage of the season

We had plenty of coverage when promotion was confirmed. Let them have their day in the sun too.

Agree with many of the reports above.

Think us and especially Wilder have had loads of publicity, far more than Norwich...it’s their fans that should feel aggrieved.

Also the play-off final is the biggest game of the league season

A massively important factor is that the season has just about finished. There’s hardly any football stories to report on, so of course the Villa win will receive more attention than normal.

Sky Sports literally chose Wilder to analyse the play-off final.

The play-offs are a massive event, it's a huge game, and Villa are a big club. It's also now the closed season and until the European finals this week there's bog all else to talk about that hasn't already been talked about.

Since promotion I've read plenty of articles about Wilder's magic touch and our revolutionary style of play. It's all good.

I swear the fact we have Billy as captain and Chris as manager is brought up all the fucking time by the media. Think some are getting a bit jealous of the limelight switching to Villa, which is only fair, since they've only just been promoted. A lot of fuss about nothing.

Genuinely, Time to take off the tin foil hats and stop only eating hand polished baked beans. We’ve had loads of attention.

I Can’t wait for all the anger when we’re last on MOTD next year.

Chris Wilder was voted Manager of the year and in doing so beat Pep Guardiola manager of the Premier Champions, Daniel Farke manager of the Championship winners and the four managers of the two European Trophy competition finalists.

What more recognition do we expect, a New York ticker tape parade?
