Whilst I agree with the balance thing, its not always a necessity. John Terry for example, all right foot, but prefers to play as the left sided centre back because of his body position for incoming crosses. Quite a few others like that too.

But yeah, I like a left footer in there.

I think a more experienced, no nonsense right footed centre half alongside him could be the way to go. Someone like Ben Turner if he's over his injuries.

Left footed centre halves will always prefer the left slot, because that's where they'll have always been played, naturally - you'll rarely get two left footed centre halves together. It's different with right footers.
