Norwegian broadcast corp. celebrated 50 years of live football from England , november 1972 the Blades made their first live apperance on scandinavian tellie, this after beeing top of the table for weeks. The crew made some interviews and filming pre-match, most is lost, but a little snip can be seen in the attached video. Recognize Flynn,Scullion and Hodginson driving. Sure more of you can identify the rest.
Broadcasting had a total cost of £ 100 a game !!!

Great footage, changed at the ground, then jump in cars up to the Ball inn Ground, I watched many a training session there. Would love to see the whole programme of that.

Need dander Berge to translate! I do wonder how many fans United have in Norway post signing a few Norwegians over the years?!

That’s incredible stuff.

Love it. Change at the Lane and then everyone pile in the sponsored Avengers up to the Ball Inn for training.

Must have been stinky on the way back.

Great video. Never seen a video (Seen stills/photos) of the Lane looking towards the cricket pitch. Least do not think I have.

They don't mention the Blades at all, but speak about how Match of the day live broadcasting started in Norway.

As a rough indication, the Scandinavian Blades Facebook group has 175 members, though I'm sure there are a few more. I don't think the signing of Norwegian players have turned too many into Blades though.

I love how we have a small following in Norway, Ive always wanted to visit Norway, I will one day! I'm sure I read somewhere that Norway's bigger cities have heated footpaths as it's that cold/probe to frost?! Amazing if true! I've been to Denmark and the people were friendly and it was so clean and modern and that was back in 1989!

Signing Flo was my first experience of United signing a foreign player but in my view we never used Flo to the best of his ability; he seemed at his best on the right wing and we had Nilsen to for the "Flo pass" I think it was called?!

I didn't particularly take to either Norwegian but then three years later we signed Jan Aage Fjorfoft as you'll recall and he was the most skilful player we've ever had, possible exception Borbokis. Berge is definitely the best foreign player we've ever had, the best midfielder I've ever seen for United and I understand why the national manager wants him to move as much as we hated the comments.

Most spectacular country I’ve ever been to. Jaw dropping sights round every corner. And I’ve travelled a lot.

But. Paid £27 for a pint and a half somewhere above the arctic circle. That was three years ago. No idea what it might be now.

And. Currently en route to Denmark. Another great place. Will actually be watching on SUTV legit tomorrow. Somewhere in the Netherlands.

Thanks for the post, put a smile on an old mans face, superb.:)

Crazy to think that the majority of Bramall Lane end is still the same.

That's not Norwegian, he did mention one moose in the whole video. (Python joke)
