I absolutely couldn't give a flying fuck about him. I don't wish a broken neck on him but I wouldn't lose 1 second of my day thinking how sorry I am if he did. He means nothing to me. He's not a Blades squad member. Should I have a breakdown if Barry bannan broke his leg in 78 places?

Nope, I've no appetite for confrontation at all. My initial post was defending our keeper, Rammers.
It escalated due to stupidity on others part, not mine.
I couldn't give a flying fuck if every player on earth dropped dead tonight, broke a leg, their neck, exploded due to constipation etc.
Not in our squad wanting to play for us, I couldn't care less. I'm a Blade foremost.. Not a football fan.

The question to some, I believe is "Is the one rule of the forum being observed" ? and I don't just mean this thread.

I hardly even read anything in 'General Blades Chat' any more, only look at the Rumours section and that's sometimes a struggle. Every thread seems to be hijacked by off topic nonsense, personal argument etc etc. Each to their own but its not what I want when coming on a SUFC forum.

I don’t like doing comparisons between our former keeper and our present one, but it might help one or two to have a slightly different opinion by the end of it.

I think Rammers is significantly better at retrieving and holding onto crosses. He’s an excellent shot stopper. He parries the ball safely and he holds onto long range shots with confidence.
The only negatives I have seen are he sometimes looks a bit flat footed when the direction of play changes... and his kicking needs work to say the least.

Henderson did seem more agile when switching direction and he too was an excellent shot stopper. But his kicking game was below par also (slightly better than Rammers it has to be said)
Henderson also struggled with crosses and elected the punch more often than not. Often parried the ball back into the danger area. Didn’t hold onto the ball (gather the ball) as well as Rammers does.

Two very good young keepers still learning their trade. I’m more than happy with the one we’ve got. I honestly believe he’s the more fundamentally solid keeper.

Well done Coatesy, back to the thread. I wonder how much of Deano's skills could be laid at the hands of Darren Ward, our goalkeeping coach? I suspect that some of his skills will be picked up by Rammers and we will see continuous improvement. He is, after all playing behind a new set of players who play a completely different style so i'm happy to give him time. CWAK saw fit to bring him to the Lane, for me i'm happy with that.

Where do the comparisons stop? Do we compare the next keeper to Henderson, Ramsdale or Kelly, Tracey?

This has been done to death - but Henderson and Ramsdale are on different development trajectory's.

There are very few goalkeepers worth what Henderson is - we were very fortunate to have one of the WORLDS better goalkeepers. We had a player from a pond we can only dream of shopping in.

To compare a young developing keeper, worth a fraction of his predecessor is not worth the time.

We should be excited - we know how good Henderson is, Ramsdale is very good now we are yet to see how good he CAN become.

Ramsdale is a good keeper and we are controlling our own future by having him, not putting ourselves into the hands of a premier league rival.

Rammers is our No1 keeper and we are his No1 team. As it should be.

Proved you can't know how a goalkeepers career will go after a few games. Then again it was the fans that ended his time with us not his complete lack of ability if you believe his supporters.

Well no I guess you never really know what will happen with a players career. Suppose it can work both ways.

The point is though that some are showing a bit of concern when I honestly don’t think we have anything to worry about... with regard to our keeper.

I guess it stems from the teams general play as we’ve started somewhat off the boil thus far this season.

Ramsdale is the best we could have got and at his age and quality we were lucky to get away with paying under 30 mil in this crazy market. 100% behind the lad and looking forward to seeing him improve into a contender for England

As for Deano, will support the lad wherever he goes until he does something to piss us off lol. Only reason I keep an eye out for England atm.

At times I forgot he was on loan, the way he interacted with the fans & became a part of the club. POTS contender in the two best seasons I’ve seen. Raised the standard for any future goalkeepers and loans - he is probably one of the main reasons players like Ampadu and Brewster have come here since. Just show the lad the respect he deserves but acknowledge it is time to move on from the idea of having him back, for now at least
