Rammers

That Arsenal crowd will turn if he screws up. it's one of the least tolerant around.

I just refute the idea that Ramsdale's poor form was largely due to our fanbase. That seems to be a convenient excuse.
Not least because Ramsdale played one whole game in front of fans at Bramall Lane. The issue was the complete mess the defensive unit was in for the first 10 games; no-one knew their roles and the performances were pretty awful.

"From Aaron's perspective, the move to a bigger club with higher expectations and a style of play where he is asked to build with his feet from the back, he's coping really well." says Southgate.

We knew this was the case, but doesn't make it any better to hear it said. At least it might help trigger the add-ons.

Another £6mil please Arsenal.

He basically quoted me verbatim. Where are all the posters saying we had their pants down now? A penny for their thoughts.

Is it just Arsenal number 1 for add ons or anything for England appearances?

Talent will usually shine through.

Everyone had doubts about Ramsdale in the first half of last season, but he's silenced his critics and believed in himself. 100% made the right move, both financially and for his career.

For all the comparisons, albeit impacted by circumstance, Ramsdale (at the moment) is now ahead of Henderson in the pecking order. Shows the importance of making the right career decisions.

He'll have the odd wobble I'm sure as any young keeper will but his start/trajectory feels like it would near enough guarantee the 6m add on are paid in time

Which means on balance feels like a good / fair deal for both clubs. Which is all that you can hope for when selling assets. Importantly, you could argue also sets a precedent of not selling on the cheap.

My thoughts are he was always going, couple that with the fact the Prince himself said we needed to make one big sale (needed) so with that in mind I was glad to see him go, we should all want him to excel and kick in the clauses...

We got the maximum or very close to it that we could have got, should the clauses kick in... Ramsdale for England I say!!

He did enough to get an England call up

To be fair, he would have been no where near a call up had Hendo & Pope not been injured

Add to that Forster & Heaton weren’t playing 1st team football and he was about the only option

That made Arsenal think they were buying a home grown international GK which added £10m on

If Pickford, Pope, Hendo, Johnstone & Rammers we’re all playing 1st team football, I think that’s the pecking order for Southgate

However life is all about right place right time

He got to savour the Euro run final and a move to a top 10 PL team

We got enough dosh to mean we could keep the rest of the squad together

Hope he does well

1 good game and he's all of a sudden Peter Shilton.....FFS

He's had a few. A lot more than the "he'll disappear without a trace", and "he'll never get called up for England againers" claimed. They've already, categorically, been proven wrong! Within what? a few months! 👀😜 You either have it or you don't.

He'd be in front of at least two (maybe three) of them.

I'd be as interested in hearing from the people that kept arguing with me that Ramsdale didn't want the move...

The amount of people in here questioning his decision to move to Arsenal to sit on the bench.....
I was one of them. I’m made up for the lad and happy to be proved wrong. Good luck to him.
He has exceeded a lot of folks expectation for the move. Long May it continue.

However you think , ramsdale is a v good English keeper. He's also a big personality, something arteta realised was missing from a squad of decent players

You can not want something and then take the opportunity when it’s presented to you. Reactive, rather than proactive.

More bollocks from the pundits just now.

Apparently Ramsdale is a different character now at Arsenal.

He's now berating defenders for mistakes, jumping up from saves to encourage team-mates, and having a laugh with them at the end after a win.

None which he did at Sheffield United apparently 🤔
