Forgive me if I ask the question which has been set before, but is anyone else getting pissed off with Paul Walker on Radio Sheffield? If anyone dares to ring up and criticise the Blades he gets really mardy, cuts the caller dead and starts off with a rant of his own. I thought the idea of a phone in was for regular fans to be given a chance to give their point of view. Walker and to some extent others on Radio Sheffield refuse to listen to any sort of criticism against Blackwell and vehemently defend him at every opportunity. Admittedly some of the callers are thick as a tramps toenail and unable to string a sentence together, but am I missing the obvious?

I think doing a few voice-overs for The Football League Show has gone to his head!

You're not kidding! He is a quality commentator but he is sometimes so up manager's arses it's untrue. Naturally his job is a journalist and needs to keep local managers on sidefor interviews and inside info but come on!

As one caller said on Saturday when Rad Sheff jumped down his throat
I've come on here to give my opinion, not listen to yours, so let me finish

I don't know the names of the commentators on radio sheff, they don't interest me, they can provide decent commentry, but other than that they should just link the show.

If they don't want to listen to callers, then don't have a phone in, but they'd find that people don't want to listen to their view

Paul Walkers ARROGANCE towards the callers infuriates me so much ....I have to willfully stop myself from gnashing my teeth !!

Andy Giddings asked KB for his opinion .... he gave it ...and Paul Walker accuses him of being frosty because it wasn't the opinion he wanted to hear ..... tosser !!

Only one tosser in that interview ... and it wasn't Giddings !

Paul Walker wasn't conducting the interview ...he was the anchor man ...but you're right ....KB didn't handle the prodding and poking very well at all.

Why should he ,we're all morons aren't we ? Its the first Blade who hasn't been cut off ,wankers.

For fucks sake get over it! I was pissed off at his comment initially but he has had the stick for it and made himself look a complete tit! Just let it go.

If I was Paul Walker I would be flattered that I could insult people and still have folk talk about me so much. Don't loose sleep!

ironic that Walker slated KB for being frosty, or is it? was that to just stir it up a little more?? gets more like talksports meaningless, faked-contentious drivel phone-ins every day, radio sheffield does! full marks to giddings and a classic quote from KB:

"I DONT HAVE TO GIVE YOU AN OPINION... MY OPINION IS THAT etc..."

I must admit that there is a definite 'mellowing' when it comes to interviews on the radio compared to, say, ten years ago. Maybe it's because there is no competition, as compared to when Hallam carried commentaries and such.

It does seem to be very much of a comfort zone, for nearly all involved.

We need a radio station that is strictly a Blades station not one shared with every other club in the region that is the main problem!

RS need to scrap the 6-7 show every night.

You can't fill 5 hours of air time a week without having a bunch of nutters as regulars. There aren't enough "interesting" people out there.

I would have a half hour show on Monday, mid-week match day (if there is one) and Friday for interviews with managers/players etc. regarding the up-coming or just played matches. The phone in should be limited to P&G on a Saturday evening.

The "problem", as I see it, is that RS and therefore the presenters have to maintain a relationship with the club and therefore cannot be seen as being critical. If Simon Davey were still Dingles boss and they were 12 poits adrift (which they would have been) RS would still be saying he needed more time.
