On now live from Sheffield Hallam Unoversity. Wilder, Darren Moore, (and the rest).

Wilder’s already made light of the fact he didn’t appear to know the new rules during the trip to Portugal.

Lundstram “in our thinking” and “the modern footballer”.

Absolutely no chance of a behind the scenes documentary in the future. Deadline Day one a one-off.

On youngsters, you’ve got to first and foremost be good enough. You’ll lose respect if you put session-wreckers into the squad. Confident people will come through in the future. There is a pathway, but our situation has changed.

Modern footballer my arse. He hasn’t got a stupid haircut and doesn’t spend all day on Twitter.

Forgot about this but unable to listen anyway. I suspect stock questions and answers anyway

He didn’t say “modern football”, I thought he said he thinks Lunny has all the attributes to be a “modern midfielder”
‘’Modern”, as having an allround game but Wilder also made reference to Lundstrum’s athleticism.

Wilder also said he’s aware that Lundstrum didn’t get a proper chance last season because Norwood and Fleck were so good keeping him out of the side.
So in this pre-season he’s been conscious to give Lundstrum a run of games and he said he’s performed really well.
Wilder and Knill both seem to rate Lundstrum.

Forgot this was on and only caught the last 5. How does one find an online version on catchup?

Lunny is a solid all rounder, but doesn’t excel at anything. That’s his problem.

I don’t think he knows his best role yet, and it’s a project for Wilder and Knill.

Nobody dislikes Lunny but how disappointing would we be to see him in our starting eleven on day one, tin hat on it's way out.

Caught 45 minutes, just listening to the last 15 now. Wilder & Warne were great. Stendel didn't appear to have any idea what he was being asked.

Would you really be disappointed?

He’s been with the club for a couple of seasons now and he’s played a decent part of the preseason games.

We picked him up as a player with attributes but needed work.

Wilder has proven that he knows what he’s doing and gained 2 promotions in 3 years.

We’ve spent £20-25m on a good range of players this summer, the whole squad looks fit and raring to go. We’ve brought pace, trickery, skill and athleticism in to blend alongside some already cracking players...

And seeing Lundstram start would disappoint you?

Personally I’d be extremely chuffed for him as it means that he’s seen as a highly regarded player in the best squad of my 42 years.

Sorry. It would disappoint me as well. I say this from a situation of very little knowledge of how he has played in pre-season but based upon what I have seen since he was signed. GLTTL.

It’s not about liking or disliking, it’s about having the best performing players playing.

Wilder and Knill have access to so much in game data, they know exactly who’s done what.
The only way Lundstrum will start a game is either due to injuries, tactical reasons or.......it could be that he’s playing really well for the team.

Think Lunny is miles off PL standard.

Duffy still here. Doesn't want to comment further (but he did) says "let's see what the next ten days brings". Owners, he keeps out of it, can't worry about something he can't control. Best bit was when they were asked which player was the best technician in their squads and he said Henderson because according to Hendo he is the best at everything he has ever done ever.

Partially agree but he’s still very young, has great leadership qualities and is a much better athlete than Norwood or Fleck.
He does have an allround game capable of doing much more then the normal midfielder.
Hoping he can improve different parts of his game but Wilder and his team of experts with the latest technology know far more then both of us.

I think back to how Montgomery wasn’t even Championship standard but in the PL he actually did an excellent job at nullifying teams.
Maybe Lundstrum might have a similar season? Doubt it though.
