Whoever that twat was tonight ,Staton I think ,he did nothing but try and stir shit up for Utd and Clough. A caller must have phoned and said loads left at half time ,Staton never shut up about it ,even extending the programme for half an hour. Some half wit phoned up and said he left at half time and the second half was even worse ,how the fuck did he know that ? Another said Clough is ruining our club and fans are voting with their feet ,Staton was too thick to point out nearly 60k in a week says different. The only one I noticed leave at half time was Flynn and that probably cost us the game.

I was cringing throughout although as the presenter pointed out the calls did become more balanced.

The blade that mentioned the 58000 (or whatever his figure was) fans in a week contradicted himself completely. His point being that the club don't deserve the support etc etc... Then as you say, he said fans were voting with their feet was ridiculous.

We really are a moaning bunch on radio Sheff at the moment and the likes of Barnsley, the biggest whingers are taking the piss out of us!

These are the type of people that never compleat anything in life, why would you pay for something and leave half way through, can you imagine going to the pub and leaving half a pint fuck that. You have to give 100% support not 50% because things are not going your way, grow up

That were a Pig that said he left at half time. Unbelievable he extended the program cause they were getting loads of calls.

Aye, and probably pull out before the vinegar stroke despite having had snip!

It becomes more and more like Talksport every time I listen to it - which admittedly is kinda rare these days.

That kid who rang up to say he left at half time but then said the second half was worse than the first had to be a pig, surely?

Well... he was monosyllabic (tick), grunted more than spoke (tick), was really think (tick), clearly had no idea about football (tick).

Talking of radio pig and Staton: Did anyone hear how Stanton carried off when the pigs hit the winner at the new york stadium last week??? Ok John Pearson let out a huge yell...understandable. But i thought Stanton was going to have an orgasm the way he went on. Not that he or the station are biased in any way shape or form. They were still discussing it yeseterday ffs. And despite the Pigs/Rotherham/ and Donny not playing today Ill give you 3 guesses which manager was interviewed on last nights show. yeah you are right. And no of course they are not biased. not even a bit.

I don't see the bias myself if I'm honest. I think the commentary they provide is excellent and I don't think Robs reaction to that Wednesday winner was over the top at all (although I've only heard the very short clip that was played on Football Heaven).

Not a fan of Staton on FH/PorG though. I find he can sometimes come across quite rude and has a tendency to just cut people off

I used to watch Coronation Street and that used to drive me crackers. They'd all buy a drink, take a sip, punch Ken Barlow then fuck off leaving an almost full glass behind. Crazy!!!

I know lads who've left at half time before when the games have been shite. Don't see what the big deal is, it's their money and if they're dissatisfied then it's their right to leave. Better that than have some spineless fucker whining about them on a Message board just because they had the temerity to criticise the team.

Those lads you know? they are customers and absolutely entitled to leave and chose to do something else as they have paid their money, there's no rule that says you have to stay. I have walked out of cinemas and theatres when dissatisfied with what's on offer. But then again, they can't really call themselves supporters.

I disagree.

I'll be honest i have left games before at half time as i have been disatisfied with what is on offer. I have also got to town before and decided i would rather stop in the boozer instead of going to the Lane. Does that make me less of a supporter.

I also think the bloke who rang up saying loads of people left at half time was talking absolute shit, i saw nobody leave, and personally i wouldn't have left. I thought at half time, even though we was 1-0 we would have come out all guns blazing and ended up winning.

I think the point was they left then went on radio and said second half was as bad

Each to their own mate. Even lads who've been the length and breadth of the country supporting the club get fed up on occasion. Sometimes a few pints in a quiet boozer while you're waiting for your mates to come and dissect another shit performance may seem the better option.

Never done it me sen but wouldn't have a pop at anybody who did.

Anything ever said on Football Heaven is normally total and utter bullshit. It is conclusive evidence that empty vessels make the loudest noise.

It happens a lot on radio sheffield they love stirring it up.I listen to the full interviews with clough and unless you go to audioboom the full interviews are rarely aired on the sports updates and football heaven. They are cut short deliberately and by cutting off at certain points make clough sound arrogant with his after match opinions. His pre-match interviews like all local managers do are usually quite long and he talks a lot of sense regarding whats happening within the club audioboom is the only place to listen as the snippits on sports news and football heaven give the wrong idea as to what he actually wants to put across it is used as a deliberate ploy to stir up the blades fans who contribute on football heaven. You can understand how friction builds up between managers and presenters as they use these little tricks to put them on the spot ,clough seems to be the one they go for as moaning fans just give them fuel to go for him, one can tell that it angers him at times but rides it as he will with fans calling for his head.Come on blades fans lets stay behind the team all this booing at the first mistake just makes the players edgy and opposing teams are taking advantage of the atmosphere. Our last 3 games at home are all winnable but the vitriole coming from the stands will make it tougher than it needs to be.If your a blade get behind the team for the final push thats if you want to go up if not stay away as we will find it easier without you
Its there for the taking blades lets do it together! .COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZARDS.

How about "Come on Blades, give the fans something to shout about" for a change. FFS, some of you just can't bring yourselves to admit that the team has a responsibility too.

The fans didn't start this downward trend, stop blaming them. And if you're so wound up about it then try shouting louder. Or are you another one who sits tut tutting but not saying owt till you're safely out of earshot of the naughty boys?

Agree with this 100%

Why do the best players get to the top? Of course it's ability, but bottle also plays a big part.

You could have the most natural ability in the world but if you can't handle the pressure of playing in front of tens of thousands of expectant fans then you will never achieve anything in football.

It's the same with United, if you can't handle the pressure of playing in front of 18k at the lane then you'll soon be playing at a smaller club.

I think it works both ways, we have a fantastic following at home and away, despite a poor season in the league we've still had great support in terms of numbers. But at times, like Port Vale last week, we got fans ready to get on players backs. Today thankfully it wasn't as apparent but the atmosphere was dead. Nothing at all.

Of course as paying fans we don't turn up to see the lads lose, but at times we could offer better support.

It's in no way blaming fans but you have to wonder why some bother to attend if all they want to do is get on their own teams back.

19000 today was brilliant support, in numbers, the side certainly didn't deserve that level of support, but I'm sure they know that. Clough also didn't deserve the side to perform like that either

obviously the players take some responsibily as clough does Mark, but getting at the players when things are not going well i accept is difficult to do .Today was a typical example of things not going right ,players started to get very edgy and mistakes creep in the crowd becomes more aggresive towards our players and the end result?.Over the years i have seen better players and united teams have the same problem as this one and overcome it sometimes to make promotion, all i am sayin
is try not to get on players backs or if you cant do that then stay out of the kitchen until the heat subsides and get behind the team next season after promotion is acheaved fingers crossed yes!! you might call me a clapper but i get frustrated like anyone else watching a match like that, but i will never boo the team as it is counter productive to what we are trying to acheave.Season end is the time to review things and i am sure the powers that be will do whats right for the club whichever
league we are in.

Good post and I agree, it does work both ways. Both sides would argue that they're right, and both sides take exception to the others views, that's pretty much life in a nutshell. I get angry more than upset when we throw games away, or when we're not good enough, but worst of all is when we have no bottle. We're still in a good position but in danger of blowing it because nobody has the strength of character to make it happen. That's unforgivable for me, at least go down fighting, not sulking and blaming the folks who pay your wages.
