Opposite of last season AI signings, we're actually watching him.... We had the lad that signed for pompey on trial last summer (murphy) Even played a game and did ok.

My main concern is that we haven't moved any of the dross out nor have we been linked with any centre backs.
Trouble is, to move the dross out, there needs to be a willing buyer/loan taker, when all the data available to every club's analyst indicates that they are, indeed, dross.

The unlikely possibilities available are:

1) Someone ill-informed, prepared to take a chance on them, based on their form/data prior to their time at The Lane.
2) The 'Old Pals Act', where a previous manager thinks they can get them back on track.
3) Turkey!

Unfortunately all true

How's he done at Brann? The tweet doesn't sound positive

EDIT - looks like he only signed in April. He's made 4 sub appearances so far
He's played about 30 minutes in total. Having had two knee operations he wasn't fit when he arrived. Brann have just got a new manager and the new one seems to have written him off already. The guy who was sacked also was reluctant to play him. Matondo says he's fitter and in a better place than when he arrived, but admits it hasn't worked out.

Sounds perfect!

Danny Hall conveying just how bad this summer is and will continue to be. I'd take mid table obscurity right now.
Danny is CWs mouthpiece so it might be his way of trying to put a bit of pressure on the board to sanction so imcomings. However it seems thst they have more pressing money matters on their mind.

We can't compete with Southampton and I wouldn't really want us to.

We're seemingly in the loans and frees market which is reasonable given parachutes have dried up and our owners (alleged) financial precarity.

If we sell Hamer / Peck / Seriki, perhaps that changes the picture.

Bit concerning the calibre of player we are looking at.

Struggled at stoke in chamionship albeit 11 games, struggled in Scottish league, struggled in Bundesliga L1 & L2 and currently struggling in Norwegian league.

At 25 years old it doesnt seem to be clicking for him.. seems we reslly are scrapping barrel if this is true.
This.

The View From Rangers is... interesting.
Quick google ask:

Rangers fans generally viewed Rabbi Matondo as a frustrating but well-liked player, often characterized by blistering pace and flashes of brilliance, but ultimately lacking the consistency and end product required for a club of that size. [1, 2]
While some supporters acknowledged his positive dressing-room presence and his ability to deliver in big matches—most notably his stunning goals in Old Firm derbies—many felt he fell short of expectations. The consensus on forums and social media was that while he had immense raw talent, his frequent injuries and lack of final consistency meant he never fully cemented a starting spot. Ultimately, his time at Ibrox was viewed as a disappointment, with many considering him a flop prior to his permanent departure for Norwegian side SK Brann.

Which, according to Abdullah, Wilder was intent on signing so he could sell Peck to Rotherham.
Not that whopper again!

Wilder read this and jizzed in his pants.

Oy vey!

Uninspiring signing who'd be a rotation player and have his moments. He does at least have pace. Fitness? Fuck knows

But if we're doing uninspiring (which I don't mind at all actually) then let's go for reliable uninspiring instead and get BBD back for that position

I'd rather us take this approach than splash fucking ridiculous fees on the latest flavour of the season PL loanee, where 12 goals and being under 24 y/o = automatic 8m fee. Enough with that. Let's be honest, the results are rarely that different are they, between a splash and a cheap punt. The last thing I want us to do in the transfer market is repeat the Tom Cannon fuck up

I don't see the issue on taking him on trial. If he does well, great. If not then we can just fuck him off (hopefully).

Might worth a punt if wages etc is reasonable lots of pace and plenty of potential as a younger player that he’s not fulfilled. Worth a gamble as depth etc
4 years at Rangers played 70 games riddled with injuries CV fits

Am I right in saying that when he left Rangers at the end of 2024/25 season he didn't get another club till march this year?!

Would rather just use Ukaki, he doesn't appear to be any better.
This perhaps invites ridicule but there did seem to be a player in there, at least one who could be a squad player.

It’s unfair if he is not given a shot simply because Wilder doesn’t want to lend any credibility to Bord. I’m not saying that’s definite but that degree of pettiness would be disappointing.
