Its either Kozzy or Dickinson, but I think the latter might be off to Preston.

Butterfield would be my outside bet but more likely one of the other two. Due to our lack of decent full backs I would say we need to sign 2 of them if not all 3!

I know there are mixed opinions of Kozzy but he can do a steady job here and there. He is also good for morale. No he wouldnt be the ambitious sort of signing everyone wants to see but beggars cant be choosy and at least we know what we would be getting with Kozzy..........

He's a much better player than Taylor in my view so there would be no harm done.

Couldn't agree more.

I see. Well that rules him out today then. That scenario is no good for us though. As KB said, he wanted his squad almost completed by this week. Waiting for a loan player right up until the last minute cant be good for our preparation. I would tell him/them to either agree the loan or jog on because we havent got time for nonsense like that.

If the club makes a big hoo-ha about Koz coming back, I think I may cry.

After the excitement of a few young foreigners on trial, to be left only with Kozzy would equate to seeing a fantastically exotic menu in a new and exciting restaurant only to be told that all they've got left is omlette and chips :(

If Kozzy is omlette and chips, what must Jordan Stewart be? Turkey Twizzlers? :)

Kozzy wasn't good enough for us when he left and if anything he's not as good as he was then. To sign him would be laughable, even for a Board as unambitious as ours.

Kozzy was a decent full back a long long time ago. Do we really need to spend money on a player simply because he's good for morale? He is seriously a huge step backwards. We aren't quite beggars yet and as for 'we know what we would be getting' I am not good enough to play for the blades and would guarantee to be shite week in week out, the fans would know what they'd be getting with me too. Should I be signed up?
I loved Kozzy when he was at the lane but his time has gone and he is not good enough for a club which should be aiming for top 6 at least.

He probably is past his best, I dont argue that. What money would we be spending? Probably a very modest salary and nothing more. He is a gap filler and sadly in the modern game every squad needs those.

I dont think anyone is suggesting that we sign him to play week in week out. He would be backup for another full back that we will probably sign. IMO he is far better back up than what we have at the club right now.

I'm afraid we are beggars. We havent spent a penny on anyone yet, other than in signing on fees and wages which are unavoidable. A few people keep saying this but as supporters we have to recognise where we are at the moment. Signing players like Kozluk (to act as back up) is where we are as a club at the moment. We cant afford 3 or 4 full backs of first team standard anymore. We waved bye bye to those days when the parachute payments stopped.

United cant afford to keep more than 14 to 15 good first team players anymore so the rest will be made up of mis-fits and journey men I'm afraid. Reality check needed for all I think.

This about sums up United at the moment. Kozluk is a very average players who makes a lot of effort. Blackwell seems to be trying to fill the team full of these. He'll fit right in with our work hard, hoof it mid table plans for next season. Free transfer, low-ish wages and he'll run his socks off. Perfect!?

Kozzy wasn't good enough for us when he left and if anything he's not as good as he was then.

That wasn't Robson's opinion at the time. He tried to persuade Kozzy to stay but negotiations with Barnsley were too far progressed. From what I recall of his performances in the Premiership he generally did ok (though Cheating Gerrard played him for an idiot at Anfield) - and in the season before he was felt by a great many to be the most improved player in the squad.

Not the seasons most inspired signing - but I'm pleased to see him back and feel he can do a job for us at this level.

copied from the other thread.

We have taken a huge retrograde step at right back, even if he is only there to warm the bench. It's also quite a blow to Lawton who could do as good a job as Kozluk on less wages.

Well he is cheap and makes up the squad numbers, the scouts could only find trailists that are not good enough.
I hope Kozzy learned from his past and will not play the opposition onside that for me was a big weakness of his during his brief stint in the premier league.

But we have Lowton in the squad and Connor Brown who could warm the bench.

I'd rather Lowton do the job a step in the wrong direction and another kick in the teeth for A youngster trying to break into the first team.

He's free and he won't be earning a lot of money. More to it he'll fit right in under Kig Kev: he works really hard (obviosuly making up for his lack of ability), he'll run around like a headless chicken and he'll be great at hoofing it so high that it comes down with snow on it.

Actually Bob, maybe there is room for Kozzy and lowton is the squad. You know Blackwell's winger philosphy (try very hard and defend well). I think Kozzy might get a few appearences out wide left.

Whatever Kozzy is earning its a waste when we have two youngsters on the wage bill already. We will be bringing in a first choice right back so this is only cover.

Where the hell are Lowton and Brown going to get game experience now? Oh let send them out on loan while we pay Kozzy.

I wish I found your second paragraph funny, but I can see it happening.

And there was I, thinking about doing a few more (i.e some) aways this season. Cheers Ollie, you are MoneySavingExpert and I claim my £5.:D

Shocking signing. Not good enough for the Dingles and linked with us or Chesterfield. Enough said.

totally uninspiring signing............

I bet Morgan didnt expect us to be signing players like 'kozzy' when told of our plans for next season..........
