Quinn

I think that Quinny has been poor for the last 2 months too. His very poor tracking back when his opposition midfield counterpart has gone on the attack has been little short of idle. This has piled the pressure on LJF, Hill, and Taylor for most of the season where they have had 2 players coming down at them with little or no support from Quin. I also think that it should not be too much to expect that a professional footballer can make accurate passes of 10 yards or so and use both feet.

The substitution of him for Flynn has seen a marked improvement in United's performance on several occasions. I would also play McAllister before him.

Anyone question why and how Flynn gets so few games but Quinn is a gaffers favourite?
But then its our Danny isnt it?

I agree with most of that. He does try to do too much at times. As i've posted somewhere I dont think Quinnys been as good since LJFs demise though. I thought they had a good understanding down the left side, working it well together, with Quinny not needing to drop back or inside too much. I dont think the Quinn/ Taylor combination works anywhere near, in fact I think it just doesn't work, period! so for me the moral would be Good left back and Quinn does better. Shite left back and he's struggling.

I think you are being very hard on Taylor ,who was one of the better players. That combination actually worked well for the first half hour until Quinn started needing a second touch ,as a contrast we were poor down the other flank for a change with Lowton having a poor game and Willo a nightmare. Taylor would be the choice left back for me as he offers the most going forward ,my main problem with him is I feel he is always one tackle away from being crocked ,but he is a much better choice than the other 3.

Taylor was at fault for the first goal, and a chance in the second half that Stevenage should have buried. Both times he got caught out drifting into the centre.

Personally I thought Quinn was a mixed bag in the game
Did some great things and did some awful things, don't think any of the midfield deserve any stick as the lack of movement from the front two was frightening and I actually thought Quinn did well to keep hold of the ball until someone who wanted it and was brave enough to show for it showed up
Unfortunately for us that was usually a centre half and not a centre forward

Whereas Lowton seems to have escaped any criticism for playing as an auxiliary centre back for Stevenage's second. He was hopelessly out of position and we got caught.

Taylor had a few slips and I was worried each time that he'd injured himself again.

Absolutely agreed, He did redeem himself somewhat though :)

I was screaming at him about 5 minutes before he came off. He lost the ball in our half, they attacked down our left and he sauntered back about 10 yards behind play offering no support whatsoever to Taylor who had 2 men attacking him. All he had to do was put a sprint in to stick with their full back .

Not read the entire thread, but maybe someone asked him what was wrong with his right foot?

I thought he had a 5 minute spell where he did well, but again was too easy to nullify once they stood on his left.

To me Quinn was OK for the first 15 minutes and then drifted out off the game. I am a critic, but he has got a lot of assists this season, and been involved in a lot of our goals. Other players rate him, as he was picked by them for the PFA team. Not sure what they can see what we can't. To me nowhere near consistant enough, and seems to give up in a game to much.

He was one of our better players in the first half and if cressy had started i would have fancied him to get on the end of one of his crosses, however can we all be reminded what happened after be came off, good move by DW by the looks.

Sorry Sitwell dont agree at all. I think Taylor is the worst left back at the club mate. Reasons, no good going forward on the overlap, no good in the air, can't pass, gets pushed off the ball too easily and most critically no pace , Bertie Blade could outpace him. For me he was probably Uniteds worst player apart from Willo. If DW dragged Quinn off for being crap as stated by some, then by the same token thats why he dragged Taylor off. I DO think however, that a lot of his problems are his level of fitness, or lack of. Looked like he was blowing out of his arse at times.

I didn't see him give up, I saw him frustrated by the lack of movement by the so called forwards who were static.

Ditto, he probably had a similar opinion of Porter than the majority watching did!

And did you yell at him when he stole the ball back at least 4 times from the player Taylor was supposed to be marking???? or when he put two peaches of crosses in the box which should have been easily converted? no thought not!

Sooner he goes the better. Most of the time he looks out of his depth in the third division.
Blackpool hardly seem to be setting their sights high.
Overall he was a disgrace yesterday.

LOL got to be a wind up.

might ask Ryan Giggs the same eh??????? he's one footed and crap too.

No - because he was doing his job. When he stopped I thought he needed a reminder. How he was supposed to hear it from Stockport though is another matter entirely.

And of course several hundred of his fellow professional footballers are totally wrong and "we" are right eh????

Giggs has been known to use his right foot to put a ball in, instead of constantly running around it.

About twice in 6 million games OK give you that one. Ok this is my last word on it then am saying nowt else as its obvious that the school bullies are just picking on the ginger kid again.

Last night I managed to force myself to watch the match recorded from sky. When Quinny was subbed both the commentator and "expert pundit" said that they couldn't understand his substitution and found it a strange decision as he was far from the worst player on the pitch ( I gave that to Taylor but after watching the rerun Willo edged it).

So I rest my case.

You ought to have watched what the player did who came on for him.
