quinn is absolutely shite, and ertl should get on the same bus as him to a texan desart.
Ertl showed a bit in a pre-season against the lower league teams and played, even though we lost most of them.
does this not tell you hes not good enough.
also Iheard the other week that its quite possible Williamson will never play again, does anyone know anything about this?

I thought playing in a central 3 would bring the best out in Quinny. In my opinion he is neither quick enough nor skillfull enough to play left of a four, nor can he put his stamp on a game enough to deserve a place in the middle of a 4. On the left side of a three I thought he would be able to keep the ball moving, quick one touch passing between him and Britton while you have the likes of Ertl as a more defensive cover. So far he hasn't done it and if he doesn't thrive in this role I can't see where his future can be at United.
We are looking out for at least one central midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and isn't afraid to want the ball even if he is marked. Given our obvious level of available spend, a player like Stock would be my template and hopefully Williamson will return to be largely unaffected by his horrendous injury. Although after that long out he is very likely to pick up niggles throughout this season.

Our problem is once the central midfield is sorted we still need wide players who will create a threat.

In my opinion he's one of the worst players ever to wear a Sheffield United shirt ,relentlessly gives the ball away runs into wrong areas leaves other players exposed and offers absolutely nothing. I listened to that prick ,Brian on RS last night praising him saying how he covered every blade of grass ,but its all pointless in the way football is played no matter what the system. The last Burnley goal was down to him charging down the pitch and not chasing back, waving Evans to get back for him when it was too late ,and then the usual sink to the turf holding his stupid ginger head in his hands. Time after time Burnley exploited us yesterday through Quinn ,he offers absolutely nothing defensively or offensively ,quite simply miles out his depth and costing us points.

imho thats a bit harsh. His problem is he is too small for the championship and too easily muscled off the ball. Would probably do ok in Prem where no physical contact is allowed so perhaps we should loan him out for a bit. He is also NOT a wide left player as he always drifts inside and leaves us with NO width, so he's often been played out of position. he does have a bad habit of gifting away posession too regularly though. We rapidly need a left sided midfield player with pace and creative ability and a pacey striker who CAN score in a brothel!!
UTB

As I recall Darth, he did seem better in the Premiership. That could have just been the fearlessness of youth, however.

well i missed the prem season through illness but everyone 'assures' me he was once a good player.. i'm not sure about that.. but he's not the worst player ever to wear the shirt .. (his midfield partner is.. heh)
