Walking past the Kop queues at about 2:45 they looked ridiculous! When I saw them I was sure kick off would be delayed. Luckily we sit on JS so walked straight in, but the kop queues were literally blocking off the bottom of John Street for ages. Was there a problem?

Different type of queue, but one match last season I went to grab my lad a snack at half time in the Bramall Lane upper tier. I went straight down at the whistle and was fifth in the queue. By the time half time ended I was second in the queue and they'd only served three people in my queue. Woefully slow and makes you wonder how they make enough money to pay the staff with that kind of slow, poor service, let alone turn around a profit.

As expected, sell out and people (us included) turning up close to kick off. We queued 5 minutes and got in fine.

Lucky me and my dad got into the ground not long after half 2, queues were still bad at that time, especially on John Street.

I walked passed all the queues for the Kop on John Street and round to Shoreham Street turnstiles for the Kop and walked straight in 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was in Matlock and stood beside a bloke and his son who were last in the queue for the kop.
Still not as big as the queue I was last week. Saw a job advertised for a Apprentice Gynaecologist in Barnsley, phoned up and asked for directions.
“ Do you live in Barnsley”
“ Ah”
“ Well go to the train station, get the train to Leeds then a taxi to the Headrow”
“ A thought job wor in Barnsley”
“ It is , but that’s where the back of the queue is”
Al Get mi Coyt.

Yeah, I always use those turnstiles as they're not as busy, think a few people were having some problems with their tickets tho, the guy in front of us was having trouble getting the scanner to scan his ticket so I wonder if there were some issues with the tickets today as well, hence the slower moving queues on John Street.

Possibly, but I tend to think it’s simply that John Street turnstiles are nearest to the pubs? 😉

I arrived at the Kop turnstiles at about 1.45pm to find them closed, and a queue building. I walked down to find the Chief Steward to ask him what was going on. His reply was, and I quote, " we're looking for the keys" . Such a Blades way to start life back in the Premier League :)
No dramas, Blades chatting happily in the sunshine, doors opened a few minutes later. I was in the ground and eating pie and chips before 2pm.

I had the exact same problem last season up there infact I went about 5 minutes before halftime & managed to get served as the players were coming back out. Taking forever to pour cans of lager into paper cups was the reason, why they can't serve up beer in plastic bottles & remove the caps I don't know.

Likewise entering south stand, wonder if its these old season cards we've been using for years?

I got stuck outside the SS turnstiles waiting for them to open until the bloke with ‘the’ key arrived.
I missed the old crew of stewards usually there - older guys one of whom was a Scot & always had plenty of chat about him.
That said, when they opened, I presented my season card with the usual first match trepidation though it seemed to be accepted quicker than I recall.
It doesn’t help when the stewards stand in front of the signs that tell people where to hold/stick their tickets. Regularly see season ticket holders shove their season card in the slot when that’s not what’s on the poster - which is tap in on the contactless bit.

Yeah, was surprised that they told me that I was going to be using the one I had last season for this season when I renewed mine and my dad's.

It always seems to be ok on the cherry street turnstiles where I’ve been entering for the last few seasons but when I used to sit at the other end on John street the queues were always ridiculous, if anyone remembers the Tottenham Hotspur league cup semi final on them turnstiles they’ll know exactly what I mean ! We missed the first 20 minutes, the queue didn’t move and they were loads behind us too
