Have we ever buggered up a first leg lead like 3 nowt before (League Cup I'm thinking) ?
It depends on the mindset of Bristol tonight, they don't have anything to lose so imagine they will go out on the attack. The upside is we maybe able to catch them on the counter and a goal or 2 from us will kill the tie. The other option is if Bristol make us play out from the back and get very defensive (might seem like a strange tactic) however if they catch us napping and grab a goal in the first half, it will create a nervous atmosphere which they have something to build on. They aren't looking for 4 goals in 90, just the 3 with a clean sheet. Hull managed it then extra time and the gamble of penalties is anyone's guess. What we can't do tonight is play into their game plan, we need to dictate play or least disrupt play. I would be more than happy with a scrappy 0-0 hoofing the ball into row z and having no ball boys for quick throws if it meant getting past them (shithousary at it's finest)

That game and the 3-3 v Reading in 1986-7 are the only games in living memory that we were 3-0 up in and didn't win.

Apart from when we beat Ipswich 4-3 in the FA Cup in 2003, are there any others where we blew a three goal lead and still won?

I can't see us not scoring against their defence.

Let's pretend it is 0-0 and go all out to win the game. Otherwise we risk sitting back and letting Bristol gain the initiative. Once their first goal goes in the whole atmosphere in the ground will change to worry mode and our players can't help be affected by it.

I'm a bit worried about playing them without that Dickie guy playing, they might keep 11 men on and not throw the game.

1-0 to Bristol after five minutes
2-0 just after half time

and 45 minutes of total and absolute heart attack time where Bristol do everything but score a third.
That will set us up nicely and fully confident for Wembley.
You all know it's going to happen

Why! Just why?

Why did you have do that?

Ffs. No. No.
(We all know if could happen)
Please. It was all going so well.
Till now.
