Last night, Mrs. Joe and I finally got round to watching the Championship highlights from Monday.

At the end of the programme, she declared unequivocally ( like many women, she has a propensity for being unequivocal ) that the quality of football played by the Blades was the best of any of the teams on show. She also declared that Preston and Derby were both rubbish.

Knowing as I do that she has been well educated in all football related matters, there can be no better endorsement of our performance and the fact that we only got one point when others who were shit got three, highlights just how cruel that result was.

That's not Joe's biggest mistake. Where did she come up with the idea that she was entitled to an opinion ?

Anyway, I have a tip for the Derby. Anmer. Someone would need to jump out in front of it for it not to win.....

As long as she doesn't pester you to go to the matches with her you should be OK. Just manage the situation by agreeing with her and thanking her for her valuable insight. Anyway, she sounds far too optimistic and complimentary towards the Blades and would be the subject of vile abuse if she carried on like that at the Lane.

My wife knows nowt about football, even she thought we played well. I banned her from BDTBL in the 70's as the only match I ever too her to we lost 1-5. I think it was against Arsenal. Mind you she is a definite Blade as she was born on Shoreham St.
