C&Ped for those who have trouble accessing the OS:

United's eventual forays into the transfer market will not be taken lightly and will not reflect a policy of bringing in utility players.

Kevin Blackwell, currently in Brazil looking at the Sao Paulo set-up, has pledged to bring in specialists to plug the gaps, rather than rely on 'bits and pieces' players:

"I know where we are strong and where we are not. Every team needs strength in depth but I don't want to have, for example, full-backs or midfielders, who have to switch sides to cover someone who is unavailable."

Speculation about how many new players will come in and when continues, but the United boss insists that his intention is to concentrate on quality rather than numbers:

"I am out to make the right signing. It might even be a big signing but I want it to be the one that helps Sheffield United realise its potential, given that the squad strength is already of good quality."
