i had as good as given up on sander a month ago so frustrating but somehow hes turned it round in the last 3 or 4 games the finish yesterday was class this is the position we need him in picking up the pieces in the final third

He needs better players around him to get more out of his ability. This goal is made by McAtee's vision in seeing the space he could pass to. Too many phases like that often result in another hopeful cross to nobody and we lose possession. Sander said so much in his interview. If better players develop their 360 vision then that's when more opportunities open up and his skills will shine regularly.

Mine wasn't a negative comment about him though, he hasn't got an ounce of defensive capability in him.
Problem is though, he knows that's what he'll become again next season due to us being shit scared to come out of our own half if we get promoted.

Superb finish. He's so frustrating. If we could get him playing at 100% all the time he will take us up. He's got it in him to be the best player in the division...he just looks disinterested so much of the time.

Agreed, people expecting him to move around like Stefan Scougall. The lads nob would be the same size as him.

You just have to let players do what they do well and let them off with what they don't do well, as long as they are doing their bit well, there isn't a problem.

He's not a defender, he's not a defensive minded midfielder, he's not got a solitary ounce of defensive capability in him, and yet he was bought as a defensive midfielder.

Just shows how much research went into buying him

Certainly get the best out of him playing in the final third rather than further back where he looks ineffective .
