Lots of posts just calling the team "shit" or F***ing shit". Not helpful at all (although understandable). How about for one thread if you say we are shit you also have to qualify it with why and what you would do to rectify it?

To start i will say we are "shit" for firing 20 yarders at chest height into Billy with his back to the goal, giving him no chance. He wants the ball at his feet preferably in the 18 yard box.
And as for that lump Sammon he is "shit" because he gives in too easily and watches the ball when he should be challenging for it.
Might even give our seemingly clueless Nigel some ideas.

The only thing we can do is wait till their contracts expire and get shut. You can't polish a turd. You can't install passion or commitment in people if they just don't care. Like I say a lot in my job, you can't teach people common sense..

But listening to the crowd 6 months ago McEveley was "shit", now he's aguably our best player, something has changed there and it cannot have been something too difficult.

Quite true.

You can't install passion or commitment in people if they just don't care.

Here I'd disagree. If the players 'just don't care' or have no 'passion or commitment' it's directly the fault of the manager. The majority of footballers at our level don't have much skill to talk about, but passion and commitment will take you far - probably into the play-offs in this shit division. If it's not there - and, unfortunately it isn't with United - it's Adkins' fault and no-one else.

Fair point, which backs up the claim that he's lost the entire dressing room. Time to replace him unfortunately

Yes, everybody else has got worse........

JMac is a POTY contender for me. Doesn't hide, rolls his sleeves up and turns up for work. The fact that that's enough is no slur on him, but a blunderbuss of poo fired at everyone else who can't even manage that.

Just dont give the blunderbuss to any of our midfield.............they d be well wide of any targets.

It's a combination of shortcomings throughout our squad that contribute to the overall picture of shit. Some of the shortcomings are listed below. Some players have some of these attributes but too few have enough of them to make a good all round player

Lack of pace
Lack of technical ability
Lack of stamina
Lack of desire
Lack of bravery
Lack of aggression
Lack of aerial prowess.
Lack of confidence
Lack of determination
Lack of footballing intelligence

And collectively, we lack a team spirit that can overcome short-comings the way some of Bassett and Warnock's teams did.

McEveley is shit. Just because he's playing well, doesn't alter that. Even shit players play well sometimes. If he was up for sale, who would want him? Maybe a few teams down the bottom of this division. Same goes for nearly everybody in the squad.

Obviously no one wants him or he would have been sold already. We don't keep players that other teams want. A small bag of shekels waved in Kev's face does the trick.

No he was shit now he's just bobbar

Not a single defender can make an effective tackle. All are slow. The midfield have no fight, spirit, or ambition. All the players fail in their ability or lack of, to run, shoot, head, pass, tackle, or control the ball. Strikers, are slow and couldn't hit the side of a house with a shovel from a distance of a yard. No player shows any spirit, effort, commitment, or will to win.

We are shit at being 'United together'
shit at 'keeping it out at one end and sticking in at the other'
shit at 'endeavouring to win a game of football'
shit at having 'a right good go for each other'

Quite true.

Fully agree. Adkins has lost the plot - if he ever had it and appears to be losing the dressing room. The reasons that Reading told him to bugger off. Time for us to do the same.

I would never describe any of our players as shit. Shit is something your body produces to keep you regular, it's also useful for growing stuff. There are a lot of our players that are not that useful, therefore, they are not shit.

Maybe because he had the live with the crazy decision made for him to be captain, and the inevitable backlash that followed that decision. He's just not the sort of player who would get a boost from that responsibility/pressure, and to be fair, most on here called it at the time.

Great points... You missed one though.

Ok I'll offer my own insight:-

No balance in midfield
No ball carriers in midfield
Lack of pace in the right areas
Lack of pace at the back
Lack of technical ability in key areas
No suitable partner for Billy
No natural width in the team
Limited work ethic amongst the group
Lack of courage
Lack of intelligence
Lack of leadership
Lack of aggression
Not streetwise enough against physicality
Loan players neither hungry nor good enough
Too slow to close shots down
Bad attitudes in a few which can spread
One natural goal scorer in the team

Apart from that everything is fine.
