Thought the nine plus subs were outstanding today. Charlton to me were the most negative, nervous and 'first division' side we have played all season and wholly undeserving of the three points. We bossed the game and without the reds we are 2 maybe 3 up with nothing coming back. A draw today would have been a fair result all things considered

Ref was a bellend, Soumare's red was a 'I've seen 'em given' and contentious but Tangagnga's was not the elbow the commentators had us believe. He clipped him with his forearm/wrist. The red card flew so fast out of his pocket it escaped his grasp. I think he was minded to send him off anyway because Tangy was mithering him over the first red. SO that's modern officiating, is it?

Full marks to the supporters too. Vocal throughout. Never say die stuff.

Good switch to 4-3-1, and for the rest of the first half we still looked capable. Bamford is such a class act. We were flat footed for their goal but really, did they bother us THAT much after they went one up? Their Campbell was their only outlet, and Seriki dealt with him with tired legs.

It's a loss, the reds gave them the result. Finishing 11 v 11 and we are three places up the table and looking forward to our game at St Mary's.

Tangy and Soumare out doesn't exactly hobble us - we still have McGuinness and Mee and Peck and Davies to drop in.

This team just depresses you though. All these poor sides we’ve lost to now have Southampton and Ipswich to look forward to…
It's called being a Sheffield United fan. I've been watching United for 50 years (I know others have suffered longer) and for probably 40 of them we've been bang average or worse. It's the dream that keeps you going.

Yep and it sounded like we could have even snatched a goal ourselves.

Didn't give up and didn't give them many chances even with 9 men.
The performance was nothing short of fantastic. With 11 we were pounding them. With 10 we had control with 9 after 90 seconds they scored but after that we were very solid, and played it exactly right.

We have beaten a very good Leicester side twice though, so that should give us optimism that we can beat Southampton (who are on a terrible run), but the Ipswich game will be very tough. I still think we can win if we play like we did against Leicester on New Years Day.

We should have got a draw against Soton at home.

I'm one of them who have suffered longer 😊 a long with a lot of others, im running out of ways which we always seem to lose games from winning positions, ( i know we weren't winning) yes the ref was shite! But don't give twats like him a reason to reduce our team, sink the chances we got, and win the fckg game, seems some players lack the intelligence, to do this ffs! Onto Southampton 👍

We all feel like this, but to be fair Soumare was lunging to correct a bit of mis control. No malicious intent in many ways unfortunate and Tangy was a yellow max. And the performance with 11 then 10 then 9 were all exceptional. I thought there were some really good performances out there today. Brooks and Seriki for me both 9/10.

Yep we have had some tough watches for certain in the last 50 odd years but compared to many teams we have also had some great times that many have had nothing to compare with. Glass half full yes but today I certainly wouldn’t want to get down on that 11/10 then 9 they were magnificent.

Ref decided it was all about him from the first minute, first corner, second corner couldn’t wait to get in disrupt the game, look at me look at me , if they’re fouls for the corner give them either way, he clearly didn’t like the way it was going Sam got an awful challenge against him not even a talking to, definitely should have been a yellow but with hindsight a red, then as Chris states Soumaré goes in hard but probably no harder than lad on Sam straight red and ref still wasn’t getting his way and didn’t like being questioned and whipped his card out again, he was so poor it was embarrassing, if our players deserve a red I’ll begrudgingly accept it, we move on

I can't believe that it wasn't drilled into our players that ref is a cunt.
Knowing that , they must learn to use their loaf , not give him what he's seeking.
There is a serious lack of guile in our squad in addition to the ability to finish golden chances.
That's two attributes which tend to see teams in the higher league positions.

My sentiments exactly. I’ve followed the blades since 73 . Can’t ever recall us being Barcelona. Through thick and thin good and bad Division 4 or Premier league , i will go as as long as the team can be arsed

I totally agree 100% with CW's post match interview [though he will prob be fined for it]
ref was on a mission
that was one of our finest displays
both before and after the reds
proud to be a blade yesterday

And had what looked a solid penalty appeal for shove on Bamford turned down early on.
From the replays I saw, it was a shove and a trip at the same time, which demands some coordination by a defender, a bit like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time. Clearly impressed Langford anyway.

our fans have always been amazing in adversity always been same in home games when we feel we are being hard done to and usually gets us over the line
