Thought the nine plus subs were outstanding today. Charlton to me were the most negative, nervous and 'first division' side we have played all season and wholly undeserving of the three points. We bossed the game and without the reds we are 2 maybe 3 up with nothing coming back. A draw today would have been a fair result all things considered
Ref was a bellend, Soumare's red was a 'I've seen 'em given' and contentious but Tangagnga's was not the elbow the commentators had us believe. He clipped him with his forearm/wrist. The red card flew so fast out of his pocket it escaped his grasp. I think he was minded to send him off anyway because Tangy was mithering him over the first red. SO that's modern officiating, is it?
Full marks to the supporters too. Vocal throughout. Never say die stuff.
Good switch to 4-3-1, and for the rest of the first half we still looked capable. Bamford is such a class act. We were flat footed for their goal but really, did they bother us THAT much after they went one up? Their Campbell was their only outlet, and Seriki dealt with him with tired legs.
It's a loss, the reds gave them the result. Finishing 11 v 11 and we are three places up the table and looking forward to our game at St Mary's.
Tangy and Soumare out doesn't exactly hobble us - we still have McGuinness and Mee and Peck and Davies to drop in.
