Incoming? Promising 21 to 24 yr old

My original reply was at the accusation that Wilder doesn’t trust youth and the recruitment team aren’t aiming for young players, I have multiple examples of young players we’d signed/been linked to. You didn’t like that whatever.

the other point is, if someone makes a thread about a young player, why can’t we have a debate on that player? Why can’t we debate if we could afford him? If he’d fit in etc? This forum is more than just a rumour mill to some people, I can imagine a lot of people use it for the social aspect of talking about football/players.

who are you to deny someone to do that whether that player is realistic or not, out of budget or not, fits us or not?
 
Just for Scarebus - she's 23, from Belper goes by the name of Chlo. She was 'incomming' last weekend but by the end of the transfer window I suspect she'll have gone elsewhere.

That's fine though it was only ever a short term agreement. I just need to be careful and maybe limit interactions as I dont wan't to end up coveting a permanent deal only to see her go to Villa.

I really hope Enda has sorted out whatever was going on after lockdown, otherwise we're going to need strong competition for his spot (Rico Henry / Jay Dasilva would be my suggestions if affordable).

What is your argument here? That we shouldn’t be going in for 21-24 year olds? Or that wilder never does?

I could argue that you’re wrong on both counts, but I think there are bigger things at play here. Are you sleeping enough? Is the lockdown getting you down? A death in the family? Are you still sleeping in the car?

Are you at that age where you thought something would have happened in life by now? And you’re looking around wondering where it is and if this is all there is? There’s got to be more, hasn’t there? Regretting not focusing more in school? Nobody to really talk to about it now.. and you’re not getting any younger I imagine. Perhaps the wife was right after all. She seems happier now she’s left too. You’ve got joint custody of the kids but they don’t want to see you. They’ll come round. Their opinion of you has just been poisoned by her and the new fella. They’ll see how wrong they were about you. They’ll all see.... it’s not that you’re ANGRY it’s just that nobody UNDERSTANDS. You got your FA badges, paid 4 grand for the course. The lads down the hare and hounds were all jealous. You did it to impress them, but they didn’t believe you anyway, and since the lockdown you’ve not even been able to show off infront of them. They’re all at home. Starting to think it wasn’t worth the money aren’t you. Didn’t really learn a lot. You can only really go and coach the under 11s on the park, and they all bully you don’t they so you packed it in.

It’s all a bit depressing isn’t it.

Berge will leave one day and I think for more than double. As for McBurnie, not every young player we buy haas to be sold, and that doesn't mean because they haven't been sold that they're a failure. McBurnie's developing still and we're gonna see an improved player this season, I'd expect him to score maybe 10 goals this season and probably be our top goalscorer as a result. We should always be buying younger players as well as the older end - 27 or older and you have a mix of players who are developing, possibly to sell, because that's good for the sustainability of the club, and then the older heads are there to provide consistency and experience i.e Norwood, Enda, Billy, Didzy and even Fleck now at 29.
