He wasnt as good as O'Hare. I remember a Flashing Blade contributor saying that he missed a going to a match because he was laid low with flu and was "feeling as weak as a Frain tackle"

Good goal against Sunderland though.

Blades 3 (Mills og, Field 2) Ipswich 1 (Lambert)

I was surprised that we had won against the media darlings, Ipswich, and my fears about getting relegation were disappearing fast. As I was at Mary Hare I didnt find out who had scored until the next morning. Only the prefects were allowed to read the newspapers until the papers were delivered in the Reading room at 11am. After breakfast I managed to persuade a prefect to find out who had scored for the Blades. He went to find out and came back to me saying "Mills own goal, Field two". Not the scorers I was expecting. It wasnt...

Easter Monday game we lost one nil. That was the third of the Easter weekend games that finally put at end to our lingering promotion hopes. We were 4 points off 3rd going into the Good Friday game at struggling Southend with 7 to play.

We lost there 2-1 to a last minute goal, then drew with Wednesday 1-1 on the Saturday before the last over 40,000 crowd at the Lane (Curran getting THAT goal) before the defeat at Ewood.

Leicester 3 (Worthington 2, Glover) Blades 0

A miserable day that I have a little memory of. On the way to the match my dad stopped at a Bookmakers to place his bets while myself, my dad's workmate (who had his girlfriend with us too) waited in the car. I was uncomfortable as the pair were cuddling, holding hands and kissing as if I wasnt in the car!

Loathed as I am to say it, that's an impressive programme cover.

Scope states that there are now approximately 1,800 births diagnosed with cerebral palsy in the UK each year, which even allowing for population growth indicates the proliferation of the condition hasn't diminished.
 
I remember being a kid and ordering bundles of mixed football programmes from Steve Earl in Bungay.

Must have spent a fortune on the damn things, and earned the wrath of mummy Billy (although she preferred my collection of those to my collection of hairy housewife's next door), only to throw them all out later.

Wonder if he's still on the go selling programmes?!

This was my 16th birthday 🎂
We drew 0-0 we also played them in April the year before and drew 0-0......
It was one of my first away games ....
If im being honest I cant remember which one is was at ....
Im sure it was this one ...little terrace behind the goal attached to a supermarket.

Blades 2 (Dearden, Woodward) Norwich 0

The second goal was the only memorable moment of the match for me. A corner taken by Woody had gone straight into the net and then the Norwich keeper, Kevin Keelan, had a bit of a scuffle with John Flynn before running towards the ref protesting that the goal shouldnt be allowed to stand. Many in the crowd werent sure if the goal was to be credited to Woody or Flynn and there was a bit of a debate about it during half time.
