Prince backing Wilder again

Hoping Brewster is the goal scorer we need. But Wilder is the manager we need for a long time. Brewster may not come off but what is certain is that Wilder has proof that the board/owner is willing to back him That is what this signing says!

McCabe made too many bad decisions and was always willing to sell the family silver for rock bottom prices.

The Prince has shown more ambition in the first 8 months of his tenure than McCabe did in ten years - we didn't know exactly what we were getting but so far he hasn't put a foot wrong. Well done Prince Abdullah bin Musa'ad.

I think it's understandable that fans get frustrated losing the first three matches of a season whatever the circumstances but having watched this team since 1981, I've never seen us have an owner and manager show such joint ambition.

I said in the summer 17th this season would still be success and I still believe it is.

When you compare our finances with most in this league we're miles behind but you simply can't fault how Wilder has been backed with what we have available.

We found a few quid down the back of the sofa then.

Do you know what , i have seen the kid play , and my opinion is it will come off , he's not only a goal scorer but got a good footballers head on him and is aware what going on around him , whos making a run , and a cleaver passer of the ball. I have been working in Liverpool recently and all the Liverpool fans i have talked to rate him highly , not one said a bad word about him , in fact one said to me the player he mostly reminds him of and the way he plays is Robbie Fowler.

Another praise is being able to walk away from a deal. If we had matched the money for Cash from Forest, really don't think we could have afforded to sign Brewster.

Possibly, but as you say the key is that we will walk away if another club's valuation doesn't match our own. But I don't think that's because we are short of money.

The Prince is as determined as Wilder to make us successful, and I think he is a resourceful guy.

Shane there’s not a thread with an unusually long thread title about this ;)

It'll be interesting to see if this is outside money coming in or just money club is getting from the tv deal. With having to buy back the stadium and training ground. Plus 120 million net spend there's a lot of money being spent regardless. I expect an eventual slowdown in the transfer market net spend wise as we are clearly buying young to build and sell on to reinvest.

I agree hundred percent - great backing from the board to Chris Wilder. I think they also see this as biggest opportunity to establish ourselves for a few years to come, following Burnley’s example to some extent.
I do see at some stage a “big“ player sold to help balance books a bit and I thought Chris hinted at that a few weeks ago. we should not be upset if that happens, all part of building the team in my view (and remember well those upset when we let Lee Evans go to Wigan , not knowing bigger picture of Norwood coming in)

Are we out of money now or is there a few quid still to spend?
I am happy with our business now ... sadly JOC getting injured was a blow but a CF was an absolute priority ... a panic signing of Sturridge on big wages and 60% of the time on the injured list would have been destroying. We have a new young keeper, 2 great cover of full backs, and a brilliant 20 year old ... the lad from Huddersfield at the back would be great and the cherry on the cake BUT we ain't spending £17m more and they won't loan as his contract is up next year......... can we sign another CH on loan?

To be honest it proves we have a good chairman I still think we will get a surprise signing
