He was missing in action last year, when it was time for him to step up.
Also, prepared to sell up and leave us in the hands of Mauriss and then Dozy, so long as he got his money, until EFL saved us.
His parting statement is the usual guff, he trots out.
Ask Hecky what he thinks of him.He left Hecky high and dry last year, then threw him under a bus.

According to him on Football Heaven he says he's made a sizeable profit out of owning & selling SUFC. Now he no longer owns us the pleading poverty has stopped. Ever been had ?

He was probably skint becuase he had to fund the football club when the TV money ran out

He isn’t skint now because he’s sold the club

My word, what a really stupid post. Has it occurred to you that he might have been short of cash until he sold his biggest asset, the one he has pumped all his available cash into?

Your lack of understanding, on everything really, is breathtaking. No wonder you’re a laughing stock.
🤣😗

Share your observations tbh - generally

It’s a hard one isn’t it - on one hand we are much better placed than when he came in , clearly . But he did seem to wash his hands of us and go missing . He has so much to thank Hecky for , as we all do - perhaps even more than CW due to the circumstances.

I don’t have any feelings one way or the other to him - hope he finds the peace he is looking for , but if he doesn’t - meh 🫤

Part of the time he washed his hands of us he was pumping £20+m in as loans. The rotter.

He was the owner 🫤

Still not enough to stop us having a transfer embargo and 2 points deduction.

Await response reminding me that this is normal business practice

There are I agree are reminders.

But like I say, in the 90s we are a shambolic mess in the boardroom. There were a succession of mad and bad owners. McCabe came in and stabilised that. There's a lot you can criticise him for. But the club was perpetual mess when he took it on, when Prince got sole control, it was in the Premier League with an academy churning out players who'd go on and captain England and win Champions Leagues.
Apologies, I didn't make myself clear, I agree with you totally. I was initiated with Brearley, Woolhouse, Macdonald, the club was becoming a toxic joke on and off the pitch. I remember joining BIFA and when our shirt sponsor was ''The Blades'' so the corner was first turned thanks to McCabe. Furthermore, I think without the 2008 crash things could have worked out well, but who knows? I am grateful for the stabilisation he achieved AND appointing Warnock.

Well he clearly hadn’t washed his hands of us which was my point, but feel free make up some random rubbish about fantasy reminders in an attempt to ignore that.

What are your thoughts on the new owners? Will you moan about them too?

I couldn’t be arsed with this Prince fest but I was drawn in. He gets no thanks from what has happened over the last few years. Your royal highness has he insisted members of staff call him (narcissistic putting it mildly) was lucky McCabe had appointed Wilder (whose signings he would go on to criticise and said he wasted money) if we go through Wilder’s signings we find the opposite. He levelled abuse at recruitment staff for not getting good players and not replacing with quality players even promising a budget which he withdrew. He’s not provided a new academy but people are saying he has (a fiction). He’s didn’t pay for repairs at shirecliffe and groundsmen or under soil heating so players were forced to clear pitch. Our two best players were touted around during that promotion season and he said he kept them because he wanted to achieve promotion is bollocks. Ndiaye had been more or less sold to Everton but made the 11th hour decision because they might end up relegated, couple of years later ends up at Everton similarly Berge was at Fulham but a cash injection stopped him from being sold and I said at the time and ultimately couple of years later ends up at Fulham. Some people on here say shit recruitment talk bollocks and they are usually the self anointed ones who think their opinion of defending him means everybody who doesn’t is thick, I guess democracies, juries and message boards aren’t your thing. I could go on but can’t be arsed as doing this on a mobile phone is frustrating. His royal highness finds the BBC when he knew Wilder couldn’t respond. He appoints Heckingbottom then gives him 0 money and says shit recruitment and people repeat it. Maybe just maybe he’ll find his way to the BBC when he gets his promotion bonus and comes on the pitch and waves his cheque at the fans. Good riddance. Good luck to the new board.

They are American so their knowledge of the English game today will be limited. That may sound racist, but it’s not. There will be subtle differences based on what they think they know.

Their lack of knowledge in these matters was probably exposed by the EFL investigation into their financial status. The EPL is different again, so any gaps in their knowledge will be magnified if we get promoted. My main concern is the lack of understanding they will demonstrate on the football side of things.

On the plus side, they will be hard nosed business men, who have earned the right to invest (wisely) we hope. They are independently wealthy for a very good reason. Let’s hope they do well, because that means good for us too.

If we don’t end up stabilized in the EPL, of course I will moan about them!

I remain unconvinced that someone who advocates beheading is a suitable figurehead for our family club.

I think his role was as legal advisor rather than Chief Executioner but perhaps you know better.

What about the other board members?

Never ever ever witnessed an 0-8 at home that’s what happens when two best players are not replaced and no premier league money goes on the team. No team starts a premier league campaign weaker than the previous championship campaign…His fault no one else’s
As a genuine question, rather than some sort of retaliatory dig (which I’m not trying to do), would you have preferred us to have a season like Luton’s last year, if it then meant we ended up where Luton are now?

Luton were in a lot of games until latter stages (when they then got beaten), and still had hopes of survival into the last month of the season (thanks to points deductions elsewhere).
Now, they’re 4 points above relegation to league one having played a game more.

If the Prince had gambled more, I think we could have maybe had a season like Luton. I don’t think there was any way, even with huge borrowing and exceeding all our pay structures, that we could have got to a level with Burnley at the time - who also went down, but are now doing as well as us too.

I don’t think it was possible to put us on a financial level with anyone who finished above that.

I think there are some fans who found last season so depressing that they actually would swap for what Luton had - even if it meant being where Luton are now. I’m not sure that would be worth it myself though.

No it was extremely funny.
I don’t dissect every single word people write on here literally as many do, so I fully accept and appreciate your humour.

How does this stack up against the fact our owner just gone is not English? For that matter, how does it stack up against our previous English owners? Nationality has no bearing, sound business decisions and having the right people in place is what counts

I think a great deal of the detail in your post is based on your opinion, and not based on facts in evidence.
This post is full of anger and hatred of a regime which admittedly, went badly wrong. He admitted that he had made mistakes, but says he would do everything the same again. (Nothing learned)?

In retrospect, the big mistake he made was United World. Quite apart from the fact that full ownership of multiple clubs is illegal, there is little benefit from this style of ownership. Maybe he got the idea from McAbe buying Chengdu, and investing in European clubs? There may be some savings from sharing admin functions between clubs but they were all miles apart, status and finance wise. SUFC would always bear the brunt of it financially.

I do not bear the man any ill will for selling the club for a profit. He was obliged to buy club assets back from McAbe after the court case. He eventually sold the club as a going concern, because he balanced the books, making the club attractive for investment.

Yes the fans had to put up with no money last season to do this. The alternative was liquidation or administration. Take your pick!

I think that is true today, because association football is currently in the entertainment buusiness. As I said I am not inherently racist towards all Americans, only those who value business priorities over football decisions, as I believe they will turn out to be. It’s just me being cynical about foreign owners who have an agenda I am unlikely to approve of. 🤷‍♂️

The Prince had some knowledge and experience of sports including association football and he only became owner by default, following disagreement with McAbe.

After reading some of the comments on this thread and the comments on the Brewster thread I can only conclude we have probably the worst fans in the country. This forum is becoming a vile toxic shithole even Wednesdayites are better than this, you'd think most hate everything about the club reading the threads as an outsider.

What I said is based on facts and I would stand by it. I don’t hate him, I’m just glad he’s gone. The new owners will get the same shit if they pull similar stunts on the club that I support. They won’t spend money in January on fees but will bring players in.
