Well no reply to that one…

the fixture (in the Clarets Cup) still appears on the U18s section of United’s website - but so does the home game v Ipswich on 27 Nov that presumably was postponed because of the snow but no mention of that!

Isn’t anyone at the club tasked with keeping these things upto date?

Incidentally, United U18s Clarets Cup fixture v Preston doesn’t appear on the Preston NE U18s section of their website at all. Not as a postponed match or as a forthcoming match… puzzling.

Maybe it reflects the lack of importance of the Clarets Cup?

Hi mate
Strange there was no info either way on this
But pne reserves had a game yesterday,so presumably our game was off a while ago. As I said it was strange, cos our coverage and info on development games is second to none

I'm afraid the Carrier Bag Firm did NOT have eyes on that one. But, I can confidently report Utd lost 1-0. I've got nothing on other details, sorry.
Over recent years, the U23 & U18 sides have entered an array of competitions to supplement the "normal" Professional Development League games. This year, the younger age group are in the League, the PDL League Cup & the Clarets Cup. It's not on for me to attempt to speak for the Academy. But, it's clear (isn't it) that the Clarets Cup is being used for the younger & fringier Academy Lads. Academy Lite as I've termed it in the past. Hence, the lack of info about these "minor" fixtures like the one at PNE.
The Journalist who covers the Academy & the dedicated Social Media channels was not able to travel to Preston. And, as pointed out, he does a remarkable job in keeping fans in touch with Academy games.
