I understand there was a press meeting at the lane with the Prince and McCabe attending. What new info was made available on the takeover?. Does anyone have any details.

He said as long as we didn't take the lead against Rotherham and then fuck up spectacularly he'd be funding us all the way to the top....

If he was there today i bet he was thinking oh my god what have i let myself in for.

kept it to their self so why did he not end up spending the cash strange.

Whilst HRH is supposedly splashing some of this "significant" investment on a striker or two, would he mind also laying out a few bob on some defenders as well?

That display in the second half this afternoon was nothing short of attrocious

Not really sure I am any wiser about him.

Firstly, it seems we're just a small cog in a big wheel in his fantasy lifestyle, we could have been anyone, if it wasn't Cardiff, it was Leeds, or Rangers, but he ended up with us because those deals went a bit off. Secondly, this whole waiting to announce it after the closing of the window may have had some legitimacy if we'd actually gone and bought some decent players on the sly. The fact that we didn't means that he's either a) switched on in which case he'll understand our slide and ways to halt it, or b) not as wealthy as we all hope.

I just don't understand the lack of investment when it could have been done before the window closed. If we're running scared of getting ripped off by L1 and Championship clubs, I'm not sure how we'd ever make the step up in the near/mid-future to a higher level.

Transfer plans are seldom straightforward, I´ve seen on here that there was some Coventry players that you wanted but it never worked out did it?
As for "splashing the cash" I´m fairly sure that someone have been assuring the prince that the team just needed minor adjustments to become a contender..Especially if they was worried about their own job at the club.

We couldnt spend shitloads anyway due to salary caps.

We can't spend beyond the percentage allowed, but if the percentage becomes a higher figure, we can spend more than if we still had less money :)

Exactly the bit about money was available before the window shut is a load of bollox or we'd have signed a striker, does he suddenly think clubs will forget this come January? I suspect as per all the bluster Mcabe ever spouts 'Europe 5 years' 'never getting promotion again, we're here to stay' ' Beattie has a cold' etc it's over exaggerated. I suspect the Prince has said he'll put a couple of million in tops. I await been proved wrong.

I was under the impression that any incoming moneys (apart from transfer fees) would be put in for next seasons salary percentages.
So say we had a new sponsorship (Man City style). This would be included in next seasons figures.

I thought you could adjust your budget at anytime? The money is called investment so I don't see why you couldn't include that as income.

Do you think that McCabe wrote off his debts and sold 50% of his club for £1 to allow someone to come in and invest ' a couple of million'

The figures aren't set for a season, they are "predicted" at the start of the season and must be realistic. They are monitored throughout the season and can obviously change as turnover changes. If we spend over 60% of turnover, we get an embargo.

I don't know but neither do you all remains to be seen, as I said, I genuinely can't fathom if investment was available why we couldn't sign a striker. Mcabe has said many things over the past 7 years. IF we spend loads of cash and IF we fly up the leagues as a result of this he deserves credit. By the same token he must also take the criticism for getting us here in the first place IMO.

There´s always the possibility of frontloading a sponsorship deal I guess, many clubs do..Like how Arsenal did with the Emirates stadium deal to get the cash directly.
It means more lean years afterwards of course.

I don't think the investment was due to be announced until after the window was shut. If you remember, we bought Baxter before the announcement was made and we might have made a few more. I am guessing that because 'the game changer' was announced the teams changed their game too.

Has KM written off the debt to the FC? I've heard it mentioned, insisted even. But then, if it was so easy to do, why do it and then sell 50% of a debt-free club for nothing, especially considering the setup we have.

I know this question is always mocked, as KM usually owes KM money therefore irrelevant, but with a new investor owning 50% of the FC or PLC (I think Blades Leisure, which is just the FC), can we be sure that our club and ground haven't taken a 50% step away from each other?

From what I have been told and understand, the ground and training facilities are now in the PLC and the prince has invested in just the football club. It would be insane for McCabe to give away half of ground etc; for a pound. Nobody in their right mind would expect KM to do that?

Now the investment is here, you can see why he did it?

KM said yesterday that the debt to the family has now been written off. The Prince was keen to invest in a club without debt and handily, as ours was pretty much all to the family - we could provide that.

I would assume part of the agreement and commitment to the football side on KM's part was this gesture.

The investment is in the football club, meaning that the other assets are "secure" with the PLC (the McCabe's) and the Prices money can go purely into the football side.

On the face of it, despite the grief he got, it looks like Kevin McCabe made the right moves in this case, but as ever, we'll see what happens going forwards.

Sure I can. I'm cynical though as I feel and always will feel that there's more to any club than the players, I think the ground is the family home. Separating ground and club have always been no-no's for me, for any club. Before, the owner of the ground also owned the club therefore securely tied together. Not anymore; the owner of the ground only part-owns the club. If new investment in the FC happens in future, then the club and ground could be entirely separate.
