I don't think the majority think we'll struggle. More expect us to be in the play-offs than be relegated. Most think around mid-table, which is probably a fair shout at this stage.

Just been getting some views from Brentford in preparation for next week and many of their fans think they'll be top 6 too. Seems everyone thinks they have a chance this year. None of their fans tipped us go down either by the way.

I think there's a decent chance of them being top 6. They've got some good players and likely to be more consistent than some 'bigger' teams.

Seems many see the pigs to go up or make at least the play-offs. Good to see very little is expected of us, I am actually optimistic that we will more than hold our own and surprise many.

My top six:
Fulham
Leeds
Boro
Villa
Norwich
Brentford

Jesus there's some bollocks , shite & ego's on that site , happy to be an underdog & let the football do the talking or should we take out a £200 trillion pound loan just to day my chairmens got more money than yours .. nah nah na nah na ...

The playing field is levelling all across football. All of a sudden Leicester are winning the PL, Athletico Madrid are keeping pace with their neighbours, Huddersfield have made the PL.

And United????

In Tufty I trust!!

The pigs will be nowhere near promotion, not even the play-offs. They don't have the character to succeed and chucking money at it won't solve the problem. In fact it will only make their problems worse as the delusion this creates will only make another failure even harder to bear. Half of their fans have never seen them in the premier league and they will never learn that hype wins you nothing. They will achieve fuck all until their mindset changes. Us? I'm quietly confident of pushing towards the play-offs and if we get on a roll, well, you never know.

Burton just lost Boyce for the season.

Think I may revise my prediction and say they'll go down with Ipswich and Notlob. Can also see Nigel being tempted away to manage an L1 or L2 side.

It's is very open League too close to call actual winners and losers. If I was pushed I'd anticipate us to do well and 6/5th place wouldn't surprise me although I'd be delighted but I think promotion is a push too far but certainly up amongst them.anywhete above 20th would be a success with anywhere above 10th being an unbelievable season

"It's too early to predict anything but I'll tell you one thing. United won't be anywhere near the top 6"
How contradicting is the pigs post? 1 supporter has us finishing 6th and without them in the top 6 and he instantly bites. They are under huge pressure to go up this season and the cracks are showing already

We will all be laughing at the end of the season where the pigs are concerned, mark my words and no one should be writing us Blades off. We have this uncanny knack, great team spirit, along with a huge amount of quality when 'apparently' our backs are against the wall that will take us a long way in this league.

Never looked forward to a new season commencing as this one.

The pressure appears to be off and most of our rivals appear to 'have us making the numbers up, with a wee bit of comfort to finish just below mid table'.

Wonder how many of the 'experts and elitists' would have tipped Huddersfield at this juncture last year.

The 'certainty of uncertainty' makes Saturday at 3.00pm so compelling

UTB and whatever happens, just enjoy the ride !

Here's where various media outlets have us down to finish

BBC: 13th
Sky: Mid table
The Mirror: Relegation battle
The Sun: Relegation battle
Fourfourtwo: 18th
Daily Star: 16th

I honestly think that the snorters are primed to implode this season if they don't get off to a flyer. Also if we do surprise a few and are above them then the pressure will build. The great thing for us this season, unlike last, is that we will be considered the underdogs and unknowns. We've been out of the Championship for 6 years. Even though we eventually tore up league 1, most in the Championship won't have seen our style of play or know anything about us. You don't tend to watch or take note of lower league football. Remember how at the beginning of last season nearly every team that came to the Lane were set up to frustrate and spoil the game. One of the reasons we didn't do so well first half of the season, that won't be the case this year. I think this is why we are predicted to finish just about anywhere in the Championship. Seeing a couple of the preseason games we seem to generally have picked up where we left off. Malaga was particularly pleasing to watch. Strong, committed and fantastic team spirit against a pretty decent, tricky European team in their own back yard.
Too early to predict for me, even as optimistic as I am. We will surprise many, no danger of relegation, even if we start nervously like last season. Tufty, AK and the team spirit will see us safe. Anything above that will be a bonus, and a sneaking feeling we could get on a roll. Wednesday to hopefully implode, Villa incredibly tough to beat, but still can't score. Middlesbrough flattering to deceive. We all know that the big money spenders nearly always fail. Leaving the likes of the improvers, Fulham, to make a move.

I like your outlook, Constance! You are very welcome to contribute a little more, maybe even constantly...

Boro, Fulham and Norwich to fight it out for top two. Pigs miss out on top six to much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Blades play a style and quality of football wholly unexpected from a team emerging from Division Three, delight lovers of proper football and see where it takes us...
