5 predictions for the next 5 years... I am going to go with:
Wilder rumoured for Man Utd job
Europa League Qualifiers
Kyle Walker returns
Tyler Smith breaks into 1st team
Mousset leaves for £££

Anyone else have 5 predictions for the next 5 years?

My prediction is that I'm going to wake up from a coma that I've been in for the last 3 and a half years and the Chris Wilder years will all have been a dream.

Sadly when I awake we are still a useless mid table League One team.

Hendo becomes England's regular number one
Tyler Smith not only breaks into the first team but gains at least one full England cap. We then sell him to Liverpool for £50 million
Wilder gets an MBE
We'll reach a final but just manage to avoid relegation that season
Billy retires rather than go to another club and gets a star-studded testimonial against the pigs
Jags becomes Wilder's number two following Knill's departure to Premier League new boys Brentford
The Kop bogs will still be fucking loppy

David McGoldrick will have broken his goal drought..... possibly.
Oli McBurnie will be seen out in public wearing a sensible jumper, Farah slacks and a pair of lace up shoes.
The feckless sod that's always last on our row after kick off will still never have seen the start of a game regardless of what time it begins.
John Egan will have had a top 10 hit single both sides of the atlantic.
Jack O'Connell will still be overlooked by England in favour of someone more expensive but far inferior

Another prediction: Chris Wilder will win the LMA award again, becoming the 5th manager to win it twice in a 5 year period after Moyes, Ferguson, Wenger and Coppell

BT Sports Predictions - how it will pan out according to the stats (thanks to Opta, Google and Squawka who cruched the 'big data' BT say)

I've just been re-reading the predictions put out by BT Sport in July 2019 about the Premier League. I have a paper version - I haven't got a link (it's dead) and I don't know if they still exist online somewhere BUT it's got United ending in 20th position with 32 points and a GD of -34 (F 34 A 68) - Man City win the league from Liverpool by 6 points. The article has a brief stage by stage review of the season, matches 1 - 5, 6 - 14, 15 - 30, 31 - 38. Some features are....us losing 4-1 with Bournemouth on the opening day but they do have Billy scoring! They have us at bottom of the League at Christmas with 14 points from 18 games. They follow this up with a 6-0 loss at Liverpool but they do have us beating West Ham 1 - 0 in January! Also relegated are Norwich and Newcastle with Burnley in 17th, Brighton on 16th and Aston Villa on 15th.

They have our top scorers being Billy and Didzy both getting 7. Fleck 3rd top scorer with 4.

Their end of year summary - "too good for the Championship but not quite good enough for the Premier League. It is time to build again".

and

1. Sheffield United never finish a game week inside the top half of the table spending all but one in the bottom five.
2. 32 points is the most earned by a 20th placed premier league team since West Ham in 2010/11
3. Billy Sharp has now scored in each of England's top four divisions.

Well they got one right!

Proves the old adage - you should never make predictions - particularly about the future!

How many game weeks have we finished outside the top half?

McGoldrick gets the Golden Boot
Enda wins the Ballon D'or
Wilder turns down an approach from Barca after we beat them in the champions league final
Jack heads an actual Brick into the net against Pigs in the FA Cup final and VAR says the Goal Stands
Kop renamed "The Chris Wilder Kop." Posts are removed and you get bottomless Peroni for a fiver

Dead people will be renewing their season tickets and using their 125000 points to get an away ticket.
a half’n’half scarf will be sold at full face value
There will be a 4g signal at half time
The woman behind me will change her tactical vision of the last 8 years and no longer insist on getting in the box at every opportunity

Wilder will win LMA award again.
We'll win Fa cup
We'll finish in top 6
We'll spend 30m on a player
Two of our players will play for England 1st team.

Ah 5 years, I thought you said 1!!

Succession planning.
For the first 3 years starting in 20/21 Wider will buy two hot prospects from the U23 age group @25 million each.
In years 4 and 5 he will promote 2 players from our newly built academy, and buy 1 marquee player each season for 50 miliion.
Our oldest player in the first team will be 28 years old with European experience and at least one major trophy for each of his remaining years with the club.
Rinse and repeat as necessary, and be even more forensic with player selection criteria.
Job jobbed.;)

If Wilder is left in Charge and McCabe doesn’t get his appeal and win, if the Prince backs Wilder & Knill then my predictions are:

1. Become an established top half Premier League team.
2. Win a cup.
3. New training ground and academy plus ground developments.
4. Under 23’s to play in the Paints Trophy or whatever it is called and play the pigs first team. The money troubles they have will plunge them to League One.
5. Jack O’Connell to become an England regular and Wilder will have his name thrown about the next time England are looking for a manager.

The pipedream is to get into Europe and play a big team in a competitive match.

I still have the 'link', Greystones.

Those who have a ticket for today are forecast to be in for a 5-goal thriller. Unfortunately, we'll be on the wrong end of a 3-2 result.

Then on Tuesday, we're looking at a 5-goal non-thriller; BT's Script has us down for a 0-5 against Man City.

1. Oli McBurnie gets a banning order from all football grounds, for 3 years, after setting off a smoke bomb at the Swansea v Millwall, play-off final. His contract is subsequently terminated and he takes up a new career in adult film, alongside wife, Elle.

2. Roy, of “Roy’s View From” fame, has a tv career take off and ends up winning “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” in 2023. Regularly appears on day time tv shows, such as Lose Women, providing views from the likes of Rebekah Vardy on the emerging bushfire crisis that has hit rural England. All other “Views from“ are outsourced to Ben from the podcast, who now co-presents the show with Sean Bean.

3. Billy Sharp retires at the end of the 20/21 season, having scored in the Europa League final versus Seville (we lose on penalties after a pigeon flies in the way of Basham’s shot, preventing it from going in the top corner). Billy has an open invitation retirement party on London Road that lasts 4 days, preventing any traffic from moving freely south out of the city, as fans congregate outside the pubs. All pubs are then forced to close forever by SCC.

4. United’s move to the new training base at Norton proves a success, thanks to the contamination at the site, which inadvertently has made each player 50% quicker at running, overnight.

5. Chris Wilder is given a contract for life and told to just ‘withdraw whatever he wants’ for his wages. In the first week he’s quoted as saying he only took a tenner out for the bus into town. The city centre now has a 50ft statue of (the now) Sir Chris Wilder, situated where Goodwin Fountain once stood, at the top of Fargate.

1. Wednesday collapse in a sea of debt and are re-established as a fan owned club playing at Owlerton. This collapses as well.
2. Saudi connections land us with a billionaire owner with more money than he knows what to do with.
3. We develop the stadium.
4. We become a 45k per match club and an established top 6 side.
5. We win the FA cup and regularly qualify for Europe and sometimes champions league.

5 predictions for the next 5 years... I am going to go with:
Wilder rumoured for Man Utd job
Europa League Qualifiers
Kyle Walker returns
Tyler Smith breaks into 1st team
Mousset leaves for £££

Anyone else have 5 predictions for the next 5 years?

The only way Wilder could ever be rumoured to join Man Utd is if we regularly beat the top 6 and win a trophy or 2
and have a good run in Europe.....beating some big name European clubs on the way to the final.

His current success at SU is impressive but has no relevance to clubs like Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc.
This explains why no top half PL has shown any interest in Eddie Howe or Sean Dyche.....Wilder is in the same category as those 2.
