I know where you're coming from here Bladesway but this is Olle's opinion. I dont personally agree with it but he's entitled to it. He has put it across in a passionate way as he always does but I dont mind that as long as it isnt doesnt attempt to ridicule others, which it doesnt.

Sorry to jump in Olle I'm sure you can defend yourself.

Its not the opinion one way or the other I have issue with. I actually side more with Ollie than yourself on where we might finish but the season hasn't started and the "your opinion isn't as good as mine" is off and rolling. Just because its hip to be in the miserable negative camp doesn't make your opinion any more valid. At least let the bloody sun shine for a few days before pouring gallons of piss on it. Just a thought.

Every season we all start at 0 points and have 46 games to play. Our signings thus far haven't been so bad. There is cause for optimism. Leon Brittain in particular is a good player and his capture should be room to start thinking we might be about to start playing football. I'll reserve judgement until we actually start kicking the ball about before condemning people for being shit one way or another.

Some fair comments, although knowing Olle's posts and his general mood on here you're being a little hard on him. Don't get me wrong, the two of us tend to disagree on most things and we have exchanged heated opinions on here before. I can understand what you're saying about the "your opinion is better than mine" comment but that's just the way he puts his point across, I dont think he means to ridicule anyone. Ive noticed he likes to stir up threads and draw strong opinions from people, so I take the tone in his posts with a pinch of salt to be honest. I always feel its difficult to gauge someones tone by text anyway - it can be misconstrued.

The general mood amongst most Blades fans tends to be one of misery and "the glass is half empty" but if you're from Sheffield you will realise no one can moan like steel city folk. I have mates from all round the country who think we're a bunch of miserable fuckers and that we always think we're hard done by. Pessimism is part of the Sheffield psyche and being a Blade. Its depressing sometimes yes but its a general character trait so dont let that get you down.

The one thing I will agree with you on, is that the manager and team need to be given a chance to start the season. Doom and gloom is fine but those that want to feel that way should indeed keep it to themselves because public grumbling doesnt help sometimes. I know a lot of Blades feel the management at the club have had enough chances by now but at the end of the day they're not going anywhere so let them get on with it I say!

geez, there are some red and white spectacles been worn this morning.

last time I looked we had a poor manager (with no tactical nouss whatsoever) and 16/17 contracted players (of which half are either shit or injury prone). We finished 8th last season and since then have lost key players and are further reducing the wage bill. Sure the division is poor (and it is early days) but I'd be shocked if we are anywhere near 2nd all season.

I do agree with you on a lot of things but i have to disagree when it comes to losing key players? Kenny and Naysmith? how many games did they play last season. If they are replaced and with the signings we,ve made, the only thing we have left is the poor manager and he has said tactics have changed. There is nothing to fear in this league not like last season.

Lou, your pretty much on the money there. Born and bred Sheffield but managed not to let it get me down too much :)

I have come to appreciate that while I have a fairly negative view on certain elements of SUFC until we start playing again and the results start coming in it's all guesswork. And football has a habit of making idiots of everyone at some point. Olly and Micalijo etc are entitled to their view as much as you or anyone else, its just the gay abandon they beat anyone up who happens not to think the same. I am not a shoes off in the car park man, I am most certainly dissallusioned with the club and how it is run these days, but that doesn't mean that a new season doesn't give everyone the chance to change all that.

As I say, let the sun shine for a while before pouring piss all over it. It doesn't hurt anyone and until the season starts and we get whooped 6-0 at Cardiff its ok to dream. :)
