Predicted XI for Leeds?

No doubt wilder will big l...s up in the week ahead, how great they are etc, but get them thinking about us, their goalie is dodgy so tell em we're going to bombard him, put JRS or Diaz on Bogle and attack Ampadu, build us up Chris not them!
Cooper
Clarke, Anel, Robbo, Burrows
JRS, Peck,Souza, Hamer
Ohare Campbell/Diaz

Assuming everyone is for (except Arblaster of course)

Cooper
Clarke
Anel
Holding
Burrows
JRS
O'Hare
Souza
Peck
Hamer
BBD/Campbell

Depending on how the game goes and again, if they are fit, that gives us the options of Moore/Oné/Brewster/Cannon to change things up up front, Davies when Peck starts to fatigue, Choudhary to freshen up the midfield enforcement, JLT for Holding who I doubt could complete the whole 90 yet, and hopefully Seriki who's raw pace and flair can cause problems for a flagging full back.

I really, really hope he doesn't go for a defensive CM pivot.

Leeds have scored 18, conceded 0 in their last 6. They've scored 15 more than the 2nd highest scorers and all the underlying statustics say they give up a fair amount less chances than even Burnley. It pains me to admit it as I almost always think attacking is the best mindset but we can't do the 'toe to toe' thing with them

Our last game against them certainly wont be the same line up, not sure if Chris bottled it , showed them too much respect , just hope we go for it this time,
last match
Cooper
Souttar Anel RND
Shackleton Souza Blaster Hamer Burrows
Moore Ohare

Souttar and Blaster definitely missing, and i would imagine RND Shackleton wont even make the bench...

Our greatest strength now is our bench. It’s not about how you start a game. It’s about how you finish. I reckon he’ll go for a similar line up as today.
Against recent opponents, yes. But a slow first half v Leeds and the game is gone.

We played a back 3 at Elland Road and got absolutely annihilated.

I'd go with the XI against Middlesbrough but swap Robinson for Holding and maybe Campbell for Cannon. That was a top drawer performance:

Cooper
Clarke - Anel - Holding - Burrows
Peck - Souza
RakSakyi - O'Hare - Hamer
Campbell/Cannon

Doesn’t matter who plays, Wilder will play 5 at back, can’t go toe to toe with big scary Leeds
Although we’ll get battered who ever we put out.

You said exactly the same against Middlesboro. Did you watch it? What did you think?
Do you agree if we play like that then we should beat Leeds?

You never comment when we win, only when we lose. Why is that ?

Yep that the line up I’d go for.

Ours subs will be important

I’d probably start Cannon and bring on Campbell as sub on 60 or 70 minutes.
And I’d be thinking about swapping Clarke for Sereki (who should be back) at some point in the 2nd half.
Also swap McCallum for Burrows
Maybe bring on Brewster for whoever looks tired up front.
And possibly Brooke’s for JRS when he tires.

From the games I've seen of Leeds, they're lethal on the counter.
They also finish games strongly because of their strength in depth.
Teams have succumbed to them in the latter part of the game when their players start to flag.
I really hope Sunderland gives them a hard game and take points of them.
Ideally a draw which would take two points off both of them.
Statistically we're better off being one of four teams fighting for two places than one of three fighting for one place.

I really don't want us going to a back 3/5 for this. We've got to top of the league playing with 4 at the back, apart from 1 game where we fucked it off and looked awful.. against Leeds

I do think he will go for 5 at the back again with Vini and HC - it worked for a long time against them away and it was a lucky goal that gave them a breakthrough and made us change our shape and get done on the counter (poor Sydie)

I too wish we'd play a similar team to what we played against Boro and hope for a similar result, but I think he will be more cautious.

This by no means is what i want to see against leeds, id love to see same side that played boro but with campbell upfront. But find the 3-5-2 reemergence today interesting.

Big negatives and positives to this will be interesting to see how we setup. ⚔️
He won’t drop O’hare. He changed the game against Luton & was a massive reason we won against Boro.

If there’s a vote for the most negative fan at the end of the season you definitely get mine.

Yeh it’s a bit weird, never comments in detail regards any of our performances or past matches or past players.
Just keeps repeating how crap the teams and players are and were going to lose and not be promoted. Clearly doesn’t like Sheff Utd
But does comment quite a lot when we’re losing….so needs applauding for determination.

Altho in fairness to Anston I’ve met some old blokes who are genuine Unitedites (in a fashion).
They were regulars at the Lane in the 1970’s Currie years and have hardly been since we sold him…..they are like a broken record about how we sell everyone who’s any good and how we’ll never win anything…..their view is if we do fluke a promotion then we’re straight back down again.

Also his negativity altho constant, is quite mild compared to others on this forum….so don’t mind it really.
Think it’s important that if someone doesn’t agree then they should still be allowed to give this opinion.
Actually I think there was a match recently where he predicted we would draw….i was shocked at the positivity ha ha.

Definitely, he’s not angry…well I’ve not spotted that anyway. Just constantly glass half empty. It must be draining, especially when you’re a blade! Good times are few and far between so after a weekend where we’re top of the league (possibly only for a day or so) you’d like there might be a bit more optimism in the air!

If we play Clarke then Dan James will have a great day. James has been really good and we have no one who can stop him. All we can do is be aware and play two against him. If we don’t we will regret it .

I would love to see a…

Cooper
Clarke Anel Holding Burrows
Souza Peck
Rak-Sak O’Hare Hamer
Campbell

Reliable Subs:
Davies
Brewster
Cannon
Moore
Brooks
Robinson
Choudhury

Ampadu is not very good. Let’s get Bogle on a yellow in first 5 mins v Rak-Sak. Their keeper is going to be tested by Hamer.

Hamer + Souza to be booked is worth a tenner!
