Why can we never do anything different

Don’t see the problem with these fixtures to be honest.

Good prep and easy enough for plenty of fans to attend (especially with cost of living etc)

Fixtures with more ‘novelty value’ would be great (Inter at home was a great occasion) especially for those with the spare time and cash to go but there is no onus on the club to provide glamorous pre season fixtures, just that they get the job done.

I suspect if they had the choice management probably wouldn’t want fans in for some friendlies

In any case there is a big two week gap for something more exciting to be put in the calendar.

I think we will. We had Reimes dropped in at shorter notice in 2019. Real Betis was also announced after the Pre season camp was confirmed as well

It was the edgiest I'd been in a football stadium since I nearly got thrown out of Leeds Road in 1980. Having a loud teenage potty mouth in close proximity to one of WYP's finest nearly cost me an early bath.

Keeping with the theme, we should play the Pigs. They're a lower league local side, and it would allow us to tinker with tactics and play some of the kids.

There are other clubs locally.

And we play them occasionally. Having prior relationships with other clubs means we have the contacts and it's easier to sort out. Fans are lowest priority for arranging pre season fixtures and quite rightly. It's about getting ready for the important stuff only.
