In what world should they have beaten us at the Lane in the replay?! We played them off the park but they got lucky with a penalty decision (Mullins in diving SHOCK) for 1-1. Their chance was on the beach at the Racecourse with the benefit of another poor refereeing decision and they knew it.

Wonder how their tie against Spurs went?

What a bunch of grubby ring pieces.
Couldn't give a damn about this competition but hope we wipe the floor with them.

Even though we didn't have enough interest to open the full ground, that replay at Bramall Lane was a brilliant game. They contributed to it, had some luck and looked like they might actually win at one point.

It's a shame it's not in the FA Cup or later in this competition. First round of the League Cup is the only game that's as uninteresting as the Johnstone's Paints (or whatever it is called now) Trophy.

I'm pretty sure they wind most of the EFL up, given their celebrity background.

Play the kids, we really cannot afford any injuries with our lightweight squad at the moment, I really don’t care if they beat us, we have much more important things to be for using on than the Micky mouse cup.

Looking at ticket sales so far unless there is a large last minute walk up we will only have around 6k fans attending. They haven't sold out their allocation and this reflects the general level of disinterest in this fixture. Not opening the Kop kills the atmosphere and will have affected ticket sales plus its on TV. Also having to watch Parkinson long ball is not an attractive proposition.

The only ones getting excited about this are the TV and media. If Reynolds turned up with his missus that may have added 1,000 gloaters to the gate, no one wants to see the other nobody co owner.

Its early season and after a good start we need to focus on Saturdays game bearing in mind our thin squad and propensity to pick up injuries. I'll be really disappointed if we play more than 3 starters from PNE from the off. We have an excellent academy and this is an opportunity to let our young fringe players shine on the public stage. Sereki v McClean would be a very interesting match up.

One of the few pluses is that the synchronised diver Mullin is out injured so we won't have to endure him collapsing in a pre orchestrated heap whenever in sight of our penalty area.

CW's not a fan of Parkinson after his antics when he was at Bolton but we can't let the desire to get one over him affect our preparation for Saturday. Would be good to win but there are more important considerations imo.

I can see us putting out a half strength team and getting knocked out.

Rent free in their heads.

Cheers Roy

When they had the good fortune of being took over by two hollywood stars who put them in the spotlight, I thought good for them, especially after years of neglect and mismanagement.

Since we've played them, my goodwill towards them has somewhat diminished and I stopped watching the series.

This isn't an important game for us, although I'd still like to put a strongish team out and win, especially those players who Wilder has been bemoaning lack minutes and hopefully we'll see Campbell. Our recent record in the League Cup is pants (have we been past the 3rd round since the semi in 2015?) so I think it would be a useful way of giving what back up players we have a chance to play proper games.

I think the pricing for this game is way off tbh
Free entry for season ticket holders
£5 foe rest
I think 16 quid is taking the piss

Couldn’t give a shit about them tbh , trying to create some fkg stupid fake rivalry when their not even a a speck of ant shit on the horizon . We’ll play the kids tmmw , just waiting for all that rattled shit they come out with 🥱🥱🥱.. says it all that their main rivals are in National League North .. tack fkg far or whatever

If ever a player reflected club he’s plays for James McLean .. angry , talentless , media attention seeker .. perfect fit 👍

worst thing about this is we’ll have their idiot tubby YouTube fan talking $h1te for weeks and weeks and then trying to make a big deal out of beating a league 1 side – the most annoying person on the ‘tinterweb”

At least we now know who it is who has been paying to subscribe to Jinmy’s Patreon

Thanks Roy.

Another set of fans who have no idea about Parachute payments. We've got a completely different team apart from one or two we should tear them a new one so they can go skulking away.

It will be a good test for us too.

They think we need humbling after the pastings we took last season?!

They’ve got short memories. It was their own club Twitter account who started it. Tweeting about the spurs match before they’d beaten us.

We saw it as any other draw against lower league opposition. Didn’t really care about the result and were prioritising the league before they got all disrespectful. The red card was a load of shite as well and realistically without that we’d have put them to bed at their place quite comfortably.

As much as I’ve enjoyed the documentary they’ve turned into a set of whoppers with their delusions of grandeur.

Yeah the Jebbison red card was bullshit and shows how easily influenced refs are with outside influences
Christ knows what it must be like for their contemporaries and the starstruck officials

Cheers Roy. I see Jimmy Ramble's fame is spreading

Plastic taffys

We’ll probably lose this game. It’s a shame because we should try and get to a cup final.

With our injury record and lack of decent pre season though some of the players need a run out.

“They really don’t like us do they ?

Neither does anyone else these days.

Anyone who had sympathy with them over their many, many years in the non-league wilderness has seen that evaporate with that sort of arrogance on full display.

I'm sure they would really prefer to be back with their proper rivalry, playing Chester.

Typical type of game we'll lose. after a good performance against a shocking team starts getting some people all excited and Champions Electish, we'll turn in a right heap of shyte that we somehow never manage to fully recover from.
Wrexham will be after revenge and have decided to target us as one of their enemies, we don't give a shyte about this particular cup and hardly ever do.
Got a defeat and then constant doubt in following games written all over it

I’ve learned my lesson with this cup and our approach to it. “10” changes followed by an early exit.

I’ll save my time this year.
