6 points off Leeds but if they lose to us they'll be in a relegation fight? And I though our fans were pessimistic!

Erm, didn't you predict something like 3 points from the current batch of games? And you're defending a comment I described as pessimistic......I don't know, I think it's a fair comment to be honest. Only thing not taken into account is the teams below them, are they going to win games to claw them in?
He's on loan there till Jan so the default position is he's not allowed to play. Leonard only played against us for Millwall because we allowed him.How come Evans isn’t allowed to play then?
Has this man been informed..![]()

I like Paul Cook but he's talking out of his hoop here. It's a loan until Jan at which point it becomes permanent. That means if we play them before Jan, we have every right to block him playing. Unless he's just trying to introduce a bit of needle to the fixture, in which case, fair enough!Cook is quite understandably furious: https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/fo...ield-united-s-decision-on-lee-evans-1-9415195
You can view it from both sides. Wilder in the same position would be equally annoyed you’d have thought, but ultimately is more bothered about Evans than he was Leonard, which again reiterates the ridiculousness of some that went overboard on the fact Leonard was cleared to play.
I can see there being a rule change in the future to remove the loaning club’s rights in situations where a permanent deal has been agreed.

Milwall paid a lot more money for Leonard and clearly had it written into the contract that he could play. Mr Cook ought to be having a word with the person who dealt with Evans contract at Wigan as clearly we can dictate whether he plays or not. Makes a nice change for us to have a clause in our favour rather than us having our trousers down by the buying clubCook is quite understandably furious: https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/fo...ield-united-s-decision-on-lee-evans-1-9415195

I’ve got to be honest, I’d rather Leonard be playing, our chances would improve. Bad management from whoever does our contract negotiations.![]()

Yep my thoughts exactly. I really thought they were a team that went for it !Oh great, another team that sits in and tries to hit on the break. I really hope we get an early goal and keep at em.
I meant Evans and not Leonard.I’ve got to be honest, I’d rather Leonard be playing, our chances would improve. That’s rank bad management by our contract negotiators.![]()
I’m glad you knew what I was on about, LB.Whoever comes in for Evans will probably get a hat-trick, at which point this forum will consume itself by 5pm Saturday.
They're 8pts off the relegation zone with their next 3 games being - Blades, Leeds & Boro. I'd be more surprised if they're still 8pts off the relegation zone by then. So i'd say his point is more than valid.
I predicted 10pts from the 8 games we had infront of us. We have got 10pts from 5 games so far so hopefully i'm 9 points wrong. The games that have caused my prediction to look shite are the Millwall and Blackburn games. Even the most optimistic of us wouldn't have predicted 6pts from them.
Millwall - 1pt
Blackburn - 0pts
Hull - 3pts
Derby - 0pts
Stoke - 1pt
Wigan - 3pts ??
Forest - 1pt ??
Pigs - 1pt ??

I would have predicted 6 points from those two. I don't want to get all serious about it, predictions are little more than guesses usually and I don't get into it. My point is that they are pessimistic about where they are going to be, overly so in my opinion, probably because I'm an optimist at heart. You think he's got a valid point - and my comment was that you would think that, since you appear to be a bit of a pessimist. You've quoted your prediction, which only proves my point.
Not bad at all. Infact, very good for a team that hasn’t been at this level (literally or figuratively), for a number of years
We play at Wigan on New Years Day so the Evans transfer becomes permanent before or after the match?I like Paul Cook but he's talking out of his hoop here. I haven't stalked you, honest, so was only going on that prediction threadI'd actually say i'm more of an optimist. If you look at my posts in all the negative threads that appeared after Derby and Stoke, you'd see i'm not a pessimist at all. I've always been labelled a "Clapper" on here.
The reason for that thread of predictions was because i'd looked at the fixtures and thought how difficult they looked and I was worried. Not sure if it's because we had the pigs coming up or what. But the 4 away games of Forest and Derby (surely they're expected home wins?) in addition to Millwall where we never win and a Blackburn team unbeaten for over a year, it just looked daunting. Let's hope we get more than my 5pts predicted over the next 3 games.
