Wouldn't you be? New manager and without checking I'd guess we're probably the only side in the league in worse form than they are. I don't think it's misplaced confidence unfortunately.

That said, 3 points boots our season back up and running, but it's a big ask there.

Thing is here it could genuinely go any way.

What the players need to do is make sure we are dictating play, West Brom with a new manager will of course want to impress and get off to a positive start.
He will have only had a few days training but even so there is usually that "bounce".

However if we can manage the game then this gives us the best chance (Obvious but sometimes being a counter attacking team is best away from home).

I'm expecting a bit of feistyness too because of the nature of it being 1st game in charge.

We don't do well against the 'new manager bounce' and we seem to have had our fair share of them over the years.

I would have been confident playing these before their new manager came in, not so much now.

Plenty of physical challenges and plenty of cards in this one.

God knows which way this one will go.

To be honest, I can't see anything but a repeat performance of our last few away games. Just hope West Brom have to work for their goal/s instead of us gifting the opposition as of late.

All we need is for one of their players to kick ours in the shins for no reason and we will be reyt.
I just think it will be more of the same the players dont seem to have that zip and confidence they had at the beginning of the season when it looked like we would romp it.

We are just coming to the end of a bad run. They won’t get a new manager bounce until January at the earliest. They are still pants compared to the Blades.

Cheers Roy i really hope they don’t get that new manager bounce , we need a win desperately to get us out this recent rut , we can’t keep a clean sheet for trying nowadays either . A scruffy 1-0 defected OG or whatever will do for me !

They just hired a guy who put out the cones for Bielsa (we also had JVW) and just got binned off in no time at Olympiacos. He did ‘well’ at Huddersfield in that he got them to the play offs but he pretty much lost as many as he won in 102 games; 38 wins and 36 defeats with a negative GD. Before that he had two spells managing in Cypriot football where he lost over half his games. He just won 2 from 11 in Greece.

He’s hardly Brian Clough the Second Coming.

Bit cocky for a team that, but for having played a game more than Huddersfield, would be the division’s bottom feeders.

Just need to play our own game.

Just found out he’s an ex-keeper and we have first hand experience of how they work out!

I hate that some negativity has crept into my thinking over the last few days but hoping we will not be passive & reactive or play for a bore draw. It never works when we try to do that, why not start as we finished against Norwich & go for them from the off.
